I’ve been hunting with compound for 22 years. This year however I got my got my first deer with a recurve. I went to a place that specializes in archery to have my arrows properly sized and weighted. I recommend going to a shop that specializes in archery and not Cabalas. The big stores have people in the archery department that don’t know this stuff.

You are correct for sure! Happens a lot in big box stores. Small local shops or learning to do things yourself is the way to go. Congrats on your first recurve deer. Got mine last year as well!

@@codybutlerhunt, thanks for the tips in your video. My husband hunted with a crossbow 3 years ago and I got him into using a compound bow a couple years ago. Since I got a 6pt with a recurve he wants to do it next year. I bought a nice recurve for him for his birthday in a couple weeks. I’m going to try to bare shaft tune some arrows for his recurve.

does it matter if your shooting left handed? since your on the other side of the bow ?

I believe it's reverse for left handed but I'm not 100 percent. It would make since that it would be since the arrow is flexing on the riser differently.
