The marbling is indeed beautiful. Such a well behaved girl, definitely because of the utmost respect for the animal you have and that is how iguana respond to being respected. Loved her comments haha keep it up :) I miss my old girl so much and this brings back good memories.

I believe you have an 18 month old ish. If she hasn’t tamed by then. You will need to be patient and allow her space. She’s a pissed off teenager . But iguanas are not all the same. Find what works for you, just make sure that most of her encounters with you are pleasant. They’re very impressionable at that age.

My iguana’s appetite seems to increase periodically. How do you know you are feeding your iguanas enough.

That’s a tough one really. They are different with eating patterns. I keep an I on the hip area, making sure it meaty for lack of better words. This does not apply to very gravid females. A plump but not swollen belly. Males will keep fat under where the spike are and the back of the head. But they just don’t eat sometime, but I’ve never had one starve it’s self to cause harm. Just when they don’t eat, make sure they are getting plenty of water to drink.

So, Blazey has been bathrooming in a tub up until lately. Now she periodically pees and poops anywhere in her cage, including off her hammock. Got any reasons why… I read its pre-maternal, marking territory stuff. What do you think? She is two, red, back green iguana.

I don’t really know. I’ve noticed that happening myself. But I think they change spots for different reasons. Some like you said. Some of mine will go out of the water because it’s not fresh. Some are lazy and done want to go to far from the basking spot. Some wait til I clean the tub then go in it as soon as I’m done. But the reason you got sounds good to.

What is the best place to get a baby green iguana

I’m not sure how to answer that one. If you’re looking for just “green “ or normal and lived close to me, I could give you one. Shipping is pretty expensive when buying on line. I know Florida Iguana and tortoise breeder Dr. Sam is selling all of his green iguanas, all morphs. I’ve bought from him and he is a good guy.

I do, but it will be another month before any are ready. I’ll have red 100% hypos. But will only sell pairs. Will have some normal reds in a couple of months but only sell wholesale. It just cost to much in shipping .

At a year to 18 months you should start seeing bulging on each side of the base of the tell at the vent. Younger than that you would need to probe it. Or just take it to an exotic vet. Hopefully that helps.

Hi there well I came to conclusion I think I'm going to get rid of her because I am handicap and it's very hard for me she got me twice real good yesterday with her tail and she tries to bite me all the time all the time so you know I wish I could get her out to you that would be great I would really trust that I had one guy he works over here at the PetSmart and he said he would take her but I haven't heard back from him I think he's a little wishy-washy but oh well I'll find somebody else I guess I wish you know she was real small that way I could just send her but she's not responding so I'm trying to figure out how I send a picture to you and I'm figuring she's about I don't know 9 months I'm not yourself but I think that's a little bit too old to be sending I don't know let me know cuz I up feel much better if you were you know if you had her.

After July 28 you can't no longer own them as pet in Florida unless you have a permit. I'm in the process of getting mines they are requiring more paperwork.

It’s very unfortunate for areas that think banning an animal from pet trade is going to solve their current situation. My goal as a breeder if to breed bright and beautiful colors that would make it hard for an animal to survive in the wild. But on a side note and just my opinion. Iguanas exploded in south Florida after several very active hurricane seasons. Just sayin lol

As always valuable information. I kept iguanas from the time I was 15 up until the last one died when I was 38. 10 yes passed and my heart has gotten back into it. Losing a pet is hard on the heart especially an animal that can live 20yrs. Thanks again for sharing your experience with all your subscribers
