John from www.growingyourgreens.com/ gives a one hour class to share with you the why and how to grow your own food in a small space vegetable garden.
In this 1 hour long episode, John takes a class on a tour of his backyard vegetable garden and shares with them the nuts and bolts of how to grow a vegetable garden succesfully in the mohave desert (or where ever you live). The practices that John shares are tried-and-true nature's methods of fertilizing plants and providing them with the best nutrition so they can thrive. This in turn will create a healthier planet and healthier people at the same time.
The set of this class takes place in John's backyard vegetable garden, so you will get the see the results of his gardening style first hand in this impromptu class given to encourage and teach others to grow their own food in the desert.
At the end of this episode, John will answer some questions from the class which you may benefit from as well.
After watching this episode, you will have a better understanding of the method of gardening John uses to grow his food which he simply calls biologic organic gardening.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I have been vegetable gardening with raised beds in the Houston area for about seven years now. While I have had some successes, I haven't achieved the levels of production that I feel like should be happening. It has been EXTREMELY helpful to see an accomplished gardener (you) talk about how certain things didn't quite work out and why. It turns out that is a part of regular gardening. This has really reinforced my confidence and let me know that I am definitely on the right track. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am Russian, and I live in a rural area, if we live in a private home goes without saying that should be near the house garden. Garden gives you a lot of very tasty vegetables, if you try the vegetables grown in your garden, any other vegetables bought at the store seem tasteless. You probably already know that in Russia, many urban residents are trying to have a dachas and grow vegetables for themselves. We previously knew nothing about organic gardening, but did everything in much the same way you do.

John- Love your videos and I agree alot of the mis-information about the water use in California is being deliberately done by local state and federal agencies. I agree with you that we need to move from a more "meat" based diet to a more plant base diet. With that being said, I know you like aquaponics and I do not understand why you haven't started one yet. Remember the old preachers saying, "when you are pointing your finger out, you have 3 pointing back at you. Keep up the great videos and take care.

the thing about the onions that I found is that alternate years, they divide up - so one year you get groups of iike shallots - baby onions - but if you break those apart and plant them you get onions, but then they go back into producing heads with multi heads - bend down and start new plants - just amazing

Hey, where's the Garden Tower you set up a few years ago, or was that at a different house? Before seeing your vids I didn't think gardening in Vegas was doable. Thank you so much. I would love to turn my barren backyard into an urban jungle like that, but I can see it's going to take a lot of work. Roughly 16x24 in my backyard there's this spot where at one time my septic tank broke (we fixed it since then, it was there before we bought this house from previous owners) but since then there has been a sort of swampy gross area that is just nasty. I was wondering if you have any idea on how to clean that up? I've been considering just digging up another part of my yard to cover it up with dirt or digging up the swampy mess and having it removed, but it would leave a pit or a dip in the ground making it uneven. Or would getting some kind of machinery, whatever it's called, to suck/pump up all the sludge be a better option? I'm not sure how much all of this would cost so I'm posting here weighing my options and you're the first person that came to mind to ask for advice for any tips, so I was wondering what you have to say about this? We've mostly just left the area alone and ignored it for the most part, but I've been recently looking in to getting a job and saving up to take care of this problem. edit: And I know that this comment is totally unrelated to this video but I didn't think it could hurt to ask.

Hey John! I have learned a lot from your channel. However, I am very disappointed that you cannot recommend the AQUAJET. I am the owner of it as well. I don't have any issues with my AQUAJET. The fact that you can't recommended it but, your still using it is sorta of mind baffling to me. Obviously, the product is working look what you have grow with it.. The AQUAJET might I add has also been featured as a water saving product that channel 7 news here in SOCAL featured recently. That AQUAJET owner didn't seem to have any issues with it either. So what's up? Have you contacted the owner to fix the supposed issues? Why don't you do a video on that instead of trying to kill an amazing product. It just doesn't add up.
