im so bad at flying. Ive tried practicing in empty servers but as soon as I get into a proper game I usually end up dead in less than 5 minutes....I might give it a go again now tho.

Im on the console. And what i found is that if you raise the sensitivity of the plane controls. I became MUCH BETTER. Like before i couldnt get a single kill with any plane types. Now im alright with the fighter. Now of course im no lvl 50 pilot but its only been 3 days since i became a plane adict. Now i can take on most pilots in air to air combat.

I hate it when a team mate jumps in the back and i'm being chased by another plane, it's more reliable to jumping in back yourself to take out the other plane.

Most gunners can't hit the broad side of a barn on console so I wouldn't rely of them to shoot down your tail. I usually bomb known aa with low attitude strafe to give me the chance to get a regular attack run in before rebombing it.

you have to be in first person, have the MG equipped, and hold the "aim down sights" button (default is right mouse button for PC, not sure about console, but probably left trigger)

might feel kinda unnatural at first, but bind "pitch up"/"pitch down" (and some other axes if you want) to some easily accessible keys (I use space and ctrl for up and down), use those keys for big turns and the mouse for precision aiming. that helped me a lot with maneuvering.

oh, and if you're having trouble doing precision aiming you can change the plane's mouse sensitivity under: OPTIONS>CONTROLS>ADVANCED and scroll almost all the way down, there you can find sliders to change different vehicle sensitivitys.

Actually the Attack Plane and the Fighter share the same max. speed and the same min. turning radius. Only difference is, that you have to press full throttle on the Attack Plane, while the Fighter is on full thottle by default. Can´t see why DICE did that, because that makes the fighter completely unnecessary to the game but it is how it is..

thats not true Levin M, you clearly dont have much experience with planes in the game. The fighter has a considerable speed advantage, and a slight turn advantage for constant turns, and a huge advantage when it comes to changing direction, for example changing from a left turn to a right turn. The fighter is still the very best dogfighter, its just not in a spot where its a simple walk over anymore. if the attack plane pilot is way more skilled than the fighter pilot, he can win. but the advantage is stacked in the fighters favor. To me that seems like a good balance, it makes it possible for good pilots to actually impact the battle on the ground, and still survive and win dogfights, while it also gives worse pilots the possibility to drop ground effectiveness, for an dogfighting advantage. If the old balance was back, the air combat would effectively be mute, and have next to no impact on the game, as everyone would just fly fighters, or die in the attack plane.

Sorry to disappoint you, but since the manouverability of the Attack Plane was buffed this isnt the case anymore.. You can look it up on reddit if you like:) Some guys there really made an affort on testing the planes and they came to the same conclusion as I did..

+Levin M im fully aware of the patch, which i also briefly mention in my comment. what youre saying is just not true, and it never has been. Seeing which planes has the max speed is pretty dam easy, and i recommend you try it, you will see how the attack plane has a considerable lower top speed than the fighter. same goes for maneuverability, the fighter is still considerably more maneuverable than the fighter, only exception is at lower speeds, with constant turns. if you've ever tried taking out a fighter with an attack plane you'd now this pretty quickly as well, you will have no way of gaining on a fighter, except his mistakes, wheres in a fighter, you continuously gain on attack planes. Ive seen some of these redicolous claims previously. Its simply made by poor pilots, that all of a sudden cant get their previously free attack plane kills. I have 86 stars in the fighter and over 100 in the attack plane, im globally on the top 20th list of vehicles destroyed with the attack plane, and have been doing a ton of dog fighting with both. The fighters are without a doubt the best dogfighters in the game, they have greater speeds and more maneuverability. I understand that a lot of people are dissatisfied by the patching of the fighters in the game, seeing how they used to be the supreme plane. now theres not a lot going for them anymore, their edge in dogfighting is no longer enough to offset their poor ground capabilities, so it remains the choice for the pilot that needs that extra edge to stay in the game. Between the dart nerf and the attack plane buff, planes had an awful gameplay, it basically reduced the dogfighting into rock paper sisscors where the fighter would always win, and as a result no planes ever had any impact on the game, since the fighters no longer had the capabilities to do so. After the patch, the attack planes have been given sufficient maneuverability to a point where good pilots can actually take out worse fighter pilots, meaning any good pilot, with the ambition of actually impacting the game chose an attack plane. and anyone that simply wants to disrupt the good attack plane pilot, or cant best them with the attack plane chooses the fighter. maybe its time to buff the darts a little bit, seeing they really serve no purpose in the game, as the bomber killer is the best choice, but the maneuverability change was an overall improvement, although it did shift the ace pilots choice from the fighters to the attack plane.

my tips: THE MOST IMPORTANT: decouple aiming, its essential, and may be the explanation to why you always loose dogfights. Seat Switching: learn the difference between the different load outs (fire rate). seatswitching with a bomber killer fighter on your back is a really bad idea, as they will just kill you with their rockets. regular fighters can take you out as well, if theyre at sufficient distance, or if they kill you in stead of the plane. Tank hunter attack planes can also be really dangerous. load outs: the tank hunter load out is a beast, and you can absolutely dominate a vehicle map, taking out every single vehicle the enemy spawns into. its a better option if theres alot of dogfighting going on, and alot more fun imo. You wont be able to kill scores of enemies, but the added points for vehicle kills is going to make up for it. the fighter will still be the better dogfighter, naturally, but if your good enough, you can take out worse fighter pilots quite consistently. Get a good overview, this is extremely important, and is one of the most prevalent mistakes i see in game. Here is some tips and tricks i use: planes spawn in at 1,5 minute intervals, keep track of what threats are in the skies, and also know where all aa gun positions are. a good time to get an overview is after you've thrown away your bombs, as you gain altitude look behind you, to see what your targets are doing, look at the map for additional targets/threats, and use the scoreboard to see if any pilots have spawned in. . Take note of people you've killed alot. if theres one guy raging on you, you want to know when he spawns into a plane and take him out immediately. if he spawns into a tank, he is very likely to use the aa artillery truck, which is extremely dangerous, so be aware. You can also see vehicles spawn on the map, as they will start their flight/travel with an apparently empty plane on the map, for a split second. If you se a flicker over the enemy spawn, that means a vehicle has spawned in. Learn all the aa position on every map, If any aa guns dont appear empty on the map, an enemy occupies them, if they light up in red, an enemy is using them, and either firing or getting spotted by your team. If you die, your spawn screen will also give you an overview of the map, use that to your advantage, pick out the planes you want to go for before you spawn in. if theres someone circling your spawn, he is trying to kill you as soon as you get in, try timing your spawn and immediately go into evasive maneuvers.

its not too difficult to counter. ive killed hundreds of pilots that think they'll just play the patients game and do infinite loops/circles. either you just outturn them in a fighter and kill them, or as i do with the tank hunter, disengage do a loop or an s-double loop 90 degrees on your loop, and return for a killing shot.

there wouldn't be any skill involved if it started to drift to the sides or down, you would just be dead, simple as that. And it would absolutely destroy the balance of the planes in the game. the fighter already has a huge advantage dogfighting, if you would just crash the instant you seat switched it would just be an auto defeat for the attack plane.

PP22 that is being a bit dramatic. No you wouldn't "instantly" die.. the fighter does not have a "huge advantage" over AP.. and no it wouldn't "absolutely destroy the balance". At the moment you can pretty much cross the width of the Sinai map from the back seat of an AP. .. I am just suggesting the AP should behave in the same sort of manner it does when it's been wing damaged when you perform a seat switch. For reference I have over 16k kills in the attack plane and over 17k in the fighter.

thats redicolous. try seat switching with a damaged wing Juan, and see for your self. you will be in a vertical dive by the time you've actually seat switched. it would essentially erase the possibility to seat switch, which would make the attack planes easy pickings for any fighter. i don't see why you'd want that change, for any reason what so ever. the balance is as good as perfect the way it is right now.
