We all want to be "fun Mom," but we aren't all naturally equipped. As with everything we need the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because He has set us free, we can set others free and in so doing find the love we so crave as women. This is the topic of today's podcast. Also, we will be looking at these troubling times via a positive lens.

I have been so sad lately, thinking about how fast time is sweeping by, and all the things I have done wrong. I find myself trying to control things and fear the future. This is not where my precious Lord wants me to be. This was such a great reminder to me, and a huge encouragement.

Aww--that's so sweet! We often forget that everything *does* circulate around Him--I'm afraid I'm guilty as well. He is so amazingly wonderful!

Thank you so much, Sherry. A prayer for all of us moms: Father, thank You for Your love. We ask you to forgive us for where we have gone astray. Grant us grace to walk in obedience, fulfilling the plans you have for us with humility and gratitude, with Your heart and intentions, by the power of the Holy Spirit working in us....In Jesus's name, Amen.

Thank you for the podcast! I needed to hear this. My oldest is turning 18 in a few weeks. The Lord has shown me that I need to step back & let him learn without me interfering & letting God work in his life. When I started doing that, I watched God work & him grow. You are so right. Look forward to the next podcast. Have a blessed day!

Hi Sherry! My heart was so blessed to listen to your message, and I thanked God for you and prayed for you as I listened. You bless me so richly! Just this morning I was lamenting to the Lord that I feel I'm not any fun as a mom right now. Imagine my delight when I saw this video pop up! You are such a blessing in your wisdom and encouragement and your laugh brings a smile to my heart. God bless you Sherry!!

Thank you for the encouragement. Our 2nd born has walked away from everything we tried to teach her. She’s been living with her boyfriend for over a year now and it is just heartbreaking. I struggle with how to show her the love of Christ without condoning the choices she’s making. Any advice? Thank you.

I understand your situation, as we have been through similar scenarios numerous times. I think it depends on the child and the situation, but, in general, if you have communicated your disapproval directly, and if your child is respectful of your viewpoint and does not try to influence your younger children or add drama to your lives, then it's OK to support them and love them in the midst of their "rebellion," or working things out. You don't have to keep mentioning it or bringing it up--just concentrate on the things you have in common and allow God to do the work. If, however, in their rebellion they are a pain and a drain to you and your family, you do not have to put up with their negative behavior in order to show them love. You can ask them to leave you alone, but tell them when they decide to be respectful you will be there for them, no matter what choices they may make.

@@MomDelights thank you! This answer makes so much sense. When everything first came out I could not speak to her. There was no communication for several months. Her rebellion let me feeling like I was mourning the death of a child if they makes sense. The lines of communication are open now and I’m thankful for that. Again, thank you for these words of wisdom. I’ll continue to pray for her salvation and bite my tongue if necessary. 😊❤️

I'm struggling with how to parent my 17 year old son. He has never wanted my authority over him or anyone else's. He has gotten really disrespectful over the past year and I know it doesn't help when I can be naggy, but because he doesn't do as I ask. Plus, now it has intensified since his Father is no longer here.

I don't know about the particulars, but sometimes boys will rise to the occasion if they are relied upon. Maybe it's time for him to step up and become the man in your home?
