"Finish Marathon Mode, good endings only, without dying once." If you can do that, you can get the fabled "Good Christian Boy" achievement in FAITH: THE UNHOLY TRINITY. I put a lot of time into the game to see if I could get it myself, but came up with nothing. So I decided the next best thing was to document my experience and share it with the masses to see if others could do what I couldn't!

another strategy for the tiffany fight: there's a little doorway at the bottom of the screen that tiffany will almost never get into during her dvd attack, making it a lot easier to avoid her while she's bouncing around. only drawback is on the off chance she hits the right angle and does get in there john is immediately a pile of bones

Speedrunner alternative: Start at the top or bottom of the screen with Tiffany following. Get her stuck in the wall after dealing enough damage. Repeat.

Wasnt really planning on comenting but saw something people might wanna know. around 17:00 when you start explaining the mother and child fight, there's a much much easier way of doing it risk free. the demon babys that transform tend to avoid spawning on the side that john is on, which makes this fight super simple. for this fight, all you have to do is move to the left or right of the mother and hold space also if you collect all notes in chapter one (a little risky but useful) amys health is lowered meaning you can basically skip faze one and lower the risk in the rest of it. also also, don't leave Miriam alone to change forms, that increases her health and can make the fight significantly harder for you in faze 2 and 3

For all of you players who want to play it safe and don't feel like memorizing her movement patterns, for Amy's third phase you can stick to the top of the map in between the two tips of the pentagram and hit her when she's on either side of it. It'll take longer but it's almost impossible to get hit if you stay out of the rune's range and you don't have to deal with getting hit when she's moving around

By the way, for the first part of marathon mode. I think the more pages of notes you collect the weaker she is. At least that's what it's felt like for me.

At the rain of skulls attack in the super Miriam fight, just stand at either top left or right and you won’t be damaged at all. This will easily damage Miriam.

Something to note about the forest segment with the purple thralls in Garyland is that the purple thralls almost never spawn if you stay on the red rune paths that lead from the demonic seal in the center screen to each of the three effigies you need to exorcise to progress (and the cabin easter egg but if you're going for the Good Christian Boy achievement you probably don't care about that). I've found that the moment I stray from the path outlined by those runes, a crapload of thralls will spawn and surround me. But if I stay on that path, I can go entire screens without ever encountering a single thrall.

Little advice for Lisa's fight: Watch which copy of Alu is the fastest to reach the statue, then use the cross. If you do it right, you can beat this fight without getting possessed once!

Alternatively you can quickly tap the space bar and if john doesn't show his cross when quickly tapped then you've done it

great video! the maps of the forest segments in chapters 1 and 3 will be very useful. just 2 things i thought id point out: 1. during the alu boss, you can tell which one he went to because they move to it the fastest, NOT if they get their first, just if they move the fastest, so getting lisa stuck could make it a bit harder 2. the unholy spirit boss *technically* is the third one where getting hit doesnt mean instant death, but you get sent to a segment of john in yale psychiatric institute where you need to outrun the unholy spirit and yoill die if you mess up that part i also personally found the gary boss harder than the tiffany boss, its more complex and has more phases, but great video thanks!

I beat this game on stream recently and I swear that the Gary/Malphus fight near the end of Chapter 3 was the most insane part of the series for me and why I dread even attempting this achievement.

I just got this achievement today, thanks for such an informative video. And yes, during my playthrough I found even more strategies against bosses (well... at least one strategy). When fighting the Mist Demon, you can stand between the two clouds on the left, then he won't touch you... it seems... it worked for me.

Ayyyy, really neat guide to being a good christian boy. Definitely a great blast to the past seeing all this stuff again. I think I was one of the first people to get the achievement or at least uploading a clear of it, since I was grinding it pretty hard after the game released, because I really didn't want to just have 1 achievement missing lol. And it's nice seeing people still going at it, and I hope your work with this guide can help more people get there. It definitely feels rewarding finally getting "the" run.

Alu can be spotted by figuring out which version moves the fastest (not just the one that goes into hiding first). And the unholy spirit won't kill john instantly upon contact.

Something I discovered for the Super Miriam fight When she is doing the skull attack with the singular ones that explode into eight, she stands still. Stand horizontally from her and just attack her, you can put down insane damage and barely have to dodge anything.

You missed a glitch in ch.1 when you are with amy for the first time before john says all his dialogue you can do the auto fire glitch and do tons of damage to amy before the actual fight Also you can wait for the shadow to get close to you to do more damage, just stay still and the shadow will stop before hits John when you are doing the glitchy thing And after you open the gate on the cementery with the key you can walk over a wall and not do all the whole path Also, good guide tho

Oh how this run pains me as I have yet to complete it. But I have learned some tech. For example, in the Mother boss fight, staying in the top left corner right by the vent and the candle essentially makes the fight an instant win. Since none of the crawling lanky babies can get close to John before being taken care of by the crucifix.

A tip for the mother demon is that I found out you can just stand horizontally from her and trivialize the fight. The red baby demons don’t do any damage in their small forms and they have significantly less hp, so you vaporize them as soon as they spawn and it turns the fight into a holding space bar simulator.

lil tippity tip: in the lisa/alu fight, after alu stops possessing lisa and dives to the five husk thingies, the alu clone that's moving the fastest is the real one.
