100% on point, with this video, Fraya. I have been observing & contemplating this very topic, lately. People, just don’t know who they are - as you say, disconnected from themselves. I observe people searching for their identity , but they do not realise, that is what they are searching for. Invariably, it’s external, joining groups, political parties, sports etc, to validate a sense of belonging within themselves. Truth is, there are not many, able to sit with themselves & as you said, there lies the problem, in associating with fellow, like minded souls. The word beliefs, has the word LIE right in the middle, in plain sight. Again, so many have been embroiled into this system, which stems from our parents’ - pair-who-rents. We are given a name, religion etc, most grow up, within those perimeters & never question, so do not discover, who they really are. Removing myself from family, where the dynamics of how to be, were instilled from birth & breaking free, to become my own person & express my creativity & individuality, unhindered, was the most enriching experience to authenticity. The overwhelming peace & calm, this resulted in, is incomparable.

It is not that people are disconnected from themselves because, they were never connected in the first place. Most humans are molded since childhood to be part of something ; friendship , partnership etc so they believe, the need others to fill their lives and so they spend their entire life hoping , waiting , needing that one person that will make them happy and loved without ever realizing that the only person able to love you unconditionally ( besides your mother if your are lucky ) has been , is going to, always been and will be YOU. Just observe a bunch of older people to realize that most of them are unhappy , sad and feel unloved and they will die alone wishing to have had that person who will sit by their side and tell them, they have been loved. Very well said Fraya. I've been in many ways on the same path as you and for most of the same reasons. I still have a few close friends who are truly good friends tested and true, however I spend a LOT and I mean a LOT of time alone and by choice. There are so many amazing things we learn about a lot of things when sitting in peaceful solitude giving ourselves time and space to grow within. I am also a firm believer that we cannot contribute healthily to others until we are healthy within and I never knew what it meant to be healthy within until I spent enough time in solitude.

Certainly 'inner connection' is supremely important...but then you can navigate social connections (if you choose/want to), and do it without being harmed by it or afraid of it. it's all about knowledge. You don't get true knowledge from outside yourself. There's only 8 billion other people (souls) on the planet ready to tell you what 'the truth' is. It's in you, not what others think or tell you.

You hit this out of the park! Such good distinctions related to social/outward vs individual/inward structuring. Very well captured essence without unecessary straying away from the subject. 👏 I was too stubborn, but also too wounded to conform to what society or my close surroundings expected from me. However, I reached other unhealthy extreme by dissociating and living too closed off. Some people told me it's typical for Capricorns to be loners, but it's much more than that. Specially when trauma is involved. I've been working on it for a while, started opening my shell and realizing how big power lays there. When you do the work, people not good for you are getting eliminated one by one, in diverse ways. I promised myself I'll be very picky and keep looking for kindred spirits. So here I am, finding my people by following this kind of content. 😁❤

She surprised me, 'cause I didn't look at it that way. We are a social species. Our conceptualization of the world occurs primarily through social resources. We are mainly validated by our intimate social network. People do not develop healthily and fully without sufficient social activity. One, finding that the cost of socializing is very high (due to the particularity of their nature), may resort to substitutes that fill the void created by isolation. I am autistic. I enjoy isolation very much. But I would not have developed functionally if I hadn’t had a social life (despite how challenging it has been for me to maintain one!). I suppose that "inner connection" implies correcting an inner disconnection regarding mental and emotional content that is consciously or unconsciously ignored. But this is just my superficial personal opinion. :)

i'm not denying that, what i'm saying is that without a strong inner connection, and internal validation system in check - social connection will not serve the lone wolf as it needs to. Many humans are not internally guided and only seek to gain external validation, some of us will not align with that sort of socialization, especially the lone wolf types.

One problem that I see as dangerous for development is that people instinctively adjust their conceptualizations of reality through contrast with the ideas held by their social environment. An isolated person is prone to getting lost in their own interpretations, especially if they have emotional needs that could be met by creating an interpretation of reality that alleviates those needs. Waves of circumstances and experiences that create anxiety and fear in people lead to psychotic interpretations (not grounded in their real experiences) that develop from the despair and frustration of not finding a rational way to cope with what they have suffered. The double-edged sword of how we form knowledge is that it is collaboratively shaped by the majority, which includes generalizations that are personally unverifiable. People tend to believe that what the majority thinks is most likely correct, and if the majority is mistaken, many individuals adopt that falsehood. Social media is very effective at manipulation because of this characteristic. However, it is a slippery slope to assume that a person can develop a correct conceptualization of some aspect of reality without subsequently exposing it to the light of that same reality. One should love their ideas but not so much as to fall in love with them, and always be as distrustful of them as they are of other humans. :)
