Assalamualaikum!(Peace be with you)
In this video Nouman Ali Khan highlights how males are lacking the work ethic and discipline to become real man, he encourages the muslim men to work harder & develop a work ethic if they want to get married & run a household. Marriage comes with lots of responsibilities.
Work ethic helps you understand the challenges and deal with them accordingly. Life isn't perfect, so we are always going to be facing problems but how you deal with them is very important.
Challenges can either make or break you.
He also highlights how Manliness is really lacking in alot of men today, they seem to be content with there condition & not want to improve.
Islam is a religon of brave courageous men who are fearless in the face of the enemy & ready to undertake Jihad(struggle) when the time comes, so man up & stop being a wimp!

I belive,noman ali khan here tried to explain us to take responsibility and work hard not just being in comfort all the time.Because,when someone tries to do something,he/she faces difficulties,and tackling a difficult situation or task is similar to gaining experience,which can help us in our later part of life.Don't just say It's a mean lecture,try to understand.It’s not only about paying tuition fees,It's his example of gaining experience.. peace. And remember an idle brain/mind gets derailed by shaytan more easily than the one who engages himself to any kind of halal work.

@@potatootaku4953 Esselamu Aleykum ve Rahmetullahi ve Berekatuhu. I hope and pray that Allah gives the best of this world and the hereafter for you, your loved ones and your family. Esselamu Aleykum. The best advice I could give to you (as you are in high-school) is to learn how to communicate with people. Do not get too happy about friendships, as they can fall so easily. Be carefull with who you hang out and talk, and how you talk, or even whether you think before you talk or not. Being mature in speech will result in mature acts in the world. Studying constantly is one thing too. Not saying that you should study 10 hours a day after school. Never do that. But, be consistent. Every day study. Take care of yourself and how you behave. Allah has put inside of us a mechanism that keeps critising ourself. We can think what we did wrong or not. Be mercifull to the people around you, and the animals too. And be very carefull when talking with the opposite gender. As nothing breaks a young person other than the opposite gender. The most important out of all of this is, when you have a problem, ask your parents. Whether they give you a reasonable answer or not, always seek help of someone who is more experienced than you. Maybe even the counseller at the school etc. As in high-school, you will use your emotions more than your intellect. It is just that age that makes you do that. But, controlling yourself alone is always hard. And, there is nothing wrong asking your teachers, your parents, the counseller etc. on how to behave or what to do with your studies. If you have any questions, always ask. As your age is very important for the rest of your life. Esselamu Aleykum ve Rahmetullahi ve Berekatuhu.

One thing... Although I agree with almost everything he said, I wish he would not rant about this issue with judgment to the young men out there. It's as if he's blaming them for daring to ask such a question. After all, being young, naïve, battling sexual and romantic desires is extremely hard and it shouldn't belittled into a laughing matter. I don't think chivalry or being "manly" has anything to do with this either. After all, they're human first. Being human comes far before being all mighty "chivalry." Not to mention I know many men who can support their family, have great jobs, and do not have an iota of chivalry. Some even lack work ethic. Other than that, yes, they need to be mature, responsible, and be capable of supporting themselves in order to consider getting into marriage as marriage is a great responsibility. So to all you young men and women, be patient :)

May Allah bless you abundantly! :))))))) p.s. please write 'Inshallah' as 'Insha Allah' or 'In Shaa Allah' because 'Inshallah' means 'Create Allah'. The Arabic letter hamza is left out of the spelling in this manner so we should avoid this mistake. :))))

Why always go to college to prove yourself as a successful man? I'm not saying don't go to college, but why not weigh your options. There's trade school (trades are always important to learn about), taking over a family business, having a business plan of your own that does not require a degree etc. If you're not on your P's and Q's about life after college the only thing you're going to be guaranteed to get upon graduation is debt. Argue me down if you want, I'm speaking from experience and stories from people I attended college with. Insha'allah brothers, we will all find success in this world. Asalamualaikum family.

i realized this when i was 18 i had to decide which med school i should join i only got seats in private med school, which cost ALOT like ALOT and for 6 years after which i will become a doctor and will treat patients(costumers ) who show up at my clinch o by the way you cant open a clinch unless you are a specialist which will be another 3-4 years So it hit me what if i tell my parents to save up money and i go work as an employee at a business which i think is super profitable so i can learn the ins and outs of the business and later use the saved up money and start same business working as a employee will be like going to university i soon got a job as a waiter (wanted to open a restaurant ) after working for a few month found out i did not like the business (not very profitable have to work day and night ) and all 3 of the restaurant i worked in where running in a loss /next to no profit later i shifted into the construction business worked as a salesman for construction equipment supplier like the businesses worked there for a year then used the saved money to set up a shop selling floor tiles and home decor and within 1 year of starting the business i was making as much as a doctor and all it took me was 3 years and if i had done this if i was 16 i would had been successful by 20

I agree with everything Sh. Nouman is saying. I also believe that men lack responsibility nowadays and that includes me. However, his style of getting the point across is TOTALLY inappropriate, especially nowadays with Fitna spreading all over. Instead, we should teach them to take responsibility early so that they can get married early too. However, if anything, nowadays it's still better for lazy men to just go ahead and get married instead of leaving the door of Zina wide open for them. Even if they can't manage a household just let them get married. They'll learn along the way. Jzk

My opinion is that , when you take responsibility , that’s when you can have vision and values in life , because you are seeing the reality of life hence will force you to think. I think the sickness does the same . But my point is if you focus in your Aakhirah and ask Allah to guide you , and start purifying your soul , then Allah will grant you change . Hence you will live a better life in this world.

this is a bit off. I understand you're trying to help but you're making it sound like only young men /men make mistakes and ''how dare they want love'' , like what??? xD make one on women too, either you have no idea that women make tons of mistakes (and dare I say even more, because if it weren't for women making themselves all sexualized, it would be much easier for men to avoid fitna , by the way, the word zina is feminine for a reason, think about that ) or you're just ignoring it. Video comes off as just taking potshots at men instead of giving them sound advice. And allah knows best
@jaciemokidm609
@jaciemokidm609 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think he intended it to be like that. It's not about "how dare they want love" or affection, etc. His point is that having the urges and desires is not what makes you ready for marriage. It's a big financial responsibility on the husband, and he needs to understand it. Humor is a nice way of addressing it, and it wasn't dishonest. This is very prevalent in US culture today, sadly. As to women, this is just a short clip from a full-length lecture, and you can hear from the beginning that he had already been addressing the women in the audience.

@@aqsashock219 there are lots of grunt work jobs that don't require experience, yet they build character and stand out on a resume against other people who just studied and didn't work anything on the side. Part-time jobs. Also, look at universities that incorporate internships and have good opportunities for volunteering. "Work experience" out of university doesn't have to mean experience in that field or the same type of work position. It may easily mean that they are looking for verifiable skills you've developed in different jobs and experiences that will mold well into the requirements needed for that job position. And from there, it just builds up on your resume.

Why not marry youths when they're 16 or 18 years of age and have the couples "hang out" or "date" once a week or two? Why MUST they live together? This is a cultural expectation that is hindering our youths from marrying at an earlier age. Do you really expect them to be chaste until they are in their mid-20s and 30s? I'm upset with these elders in various religious communities who lecture youths to spend the first two or three decades of their lives devoid of romance and sex while they themselves are married. It's like they regard these youths as eunuchs.

Because the parents are not ready to handle the newborns of the 16-year old couples when they arrive 9 month later, and get the responsibility of taking care of their grandchildren while the real parents still have about 10-15 years of hard study and work to go before they can be able to survive on their own in the capitalistic western environment. The parents were just waiting the moment those 16 year old kids would be grown ups and the responsibilities of raising them are over, just to be suddenly handed newborns?! not their life dream I say ... In other types of societies this problem is already solved btw.

I click on this video and thought about leaving a comment at the first thing I disagreed with. I stopped the video at :26. There is text in the video that states that "men are the protectors of women" and "righteous women are devoutly obedient" and guarding in their husband's absence. Has anyone heard the opinion that Islam is oppressive to women? What the video states at :26 is why that opinion is valid. Oppression occurs when some segment of the population is not free to enjoy their human rights and liberties. Proclaiming that women need protection, and that they should be obedient, is stripping away women's freedom to make their own life choices. I did not have to go beyond the video's first 26 seconds. I found no need to continue

It's how they're engineered. Mothers for example are engineered to look after and protect their young in the husband's absence. Or is that offensive too?Men protecting women is an ADVANTAGE THAT WOMEN HAVE. Hell, I'm proud of it. I'd rather be protected by a loving husband, thank you very much. And why is a woman being devoted and respectful to her husband (who not only is responsible in protecting her and her kids but is also responsible for her and her children financially) a bad thing to you? Do you want a wife who'd treat you like garbage?I don't know what culture you come from, but the way you're talking makes me think that from where you're brought up, men are treated like crap and women are treated like spoiled children. That pretty much sums up feminism for you. Grow up.

+Spring On occasion I have spoken on behalf of women, black people, and other demographics. It is perfectly alright that men defend women when the need arises. But this may come as a shock; unlike 1300 years ago, today there is almost no need to protect women in modern societies. I have a sister who has lived without any male protection for 25 years. If I were to inform my wife that "I am her protector", she would give me a long look and ask, "exactly what are you protecting me from?" The problem comes in when men are telling women what women should do, ostensibly for the sake of the woman. This creates a problem. You may like these things. If you do, that can be your choice. But it should not be forced on people, even women. There is nothing wrong with a wife being respectful of her husband. Do you think it should be a mutual respect? The Quran doesn't think so. Disobedient wives are shamed to the point where striking them is allowed. In a modern nation that act would put the assaulting man in jail, no questions asked. A woman's testimony is worth half that of a man's. There are entire nations that oppress and mistreat women based on some interpretation of Islam so do not tell me to grow up. Islam needs to grow up.

Here is my point: a woman should have the option of foregoing masculine protection if she so desires. If she opts out of this protection service Islam gives, that should be her right. A woman, or anyone, should be able to opt out of Islam, or any religion, without repercussions. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world opting out of Islam means death. In almost every place Islam is practiced, opting out of Islam has consequences even if in those places where the consequence is not death. So, yeah, there needs to be a modernization of Islam to include basic human rights.

Please stop. You are equating a man to a parent and the wife to being a child. If the wife wants to be considered a child, if she feels that she is that vulnerable, then she has the right to seek the protection of a man who would be willing to provide that service. But it should not be demanded of a woman who does not feel she has a need for protection.
