Your English is just fine. It adds to your charm. Many Americans don’t speak English properly, and then there are so many different accents.

Your accent is perfect to me: I'm French and whenever I speak with English people, they tell me I have a very good English accent. The truth is that it is not better (dare I say it's worse? 😌) than yours. Anyway, in one given country, there can be many different accents. My daughter went to Scotland for 10 days in 2010, and she met a woman there, who pronounced "rain" as "rrreen"! I myself staid two months in Northern England in 1986, and they pronounced "come" as "coom". So don't worry about your English accent; it's just perfect. And the fact that you don't speak too fast enables us (people from non-English-speaking countries) to understand you very well. 😉

I have no intentions of ever being a KZbin SINGER. . Ordinarily, I would never have listened to a instructional video on this topic. BUT, because it was Dan Vasc talking I could not keep myself from clicking on the video and listening to the whole thing!! I do not even understand technology and I still heard every word you said. I think you have a subliminal effect on me where I am compelled to listen to your voice whether you are singing or talking. Maybe it is a Witcher thing. Whatever it is, I am 100% happy to follow you like the children in the story of the Pied Piper! Keep on teaching and entertaining us Dan . You are an inspiration for your awaiting fans. 🤗 ❣

Dan your English is perfect, I can follow your words better than most English speaking people. You pronounce your words slowly with no slurred speech. This video was very informative and interesting. You are such a great motivator and teacher. The more I learn about you the more you impress me in every way. I believe you are a very special loving and caring young man that I am so blessed to have stumbled upon let alone your amazing vocals and performances you are mastering. You blow me away Dan Vasc you should be very proud of all you have accomplished and still to come!! I know I am very proud of you as if you were my own son. I pray for your continued success and can’t wait for more. You are just a doll! 🥰

Man this video hit a real note in my heart. I love singing and use to record myself when I was 13. Then life kicked in and I joined the military at 19. I then met my wife and moved to be with her. She also likes to sing and it's a passion of ours. Watching this is inspiring me to just post a video now, almost 17 years later. Thanks for all you do.

I found this very interesting! KZbin has been very good for people who sing, or playing instrument, and many artists out there that are using KZbin now. And I’m sure basically they’re doing all the things that you just said, depending upon how much money they have, you know the quality of the equipment that they use will be there. However, the principles there the theory is there, and you’re right just do it. I really love your Scarborough fair video, I love the way that you bring yourself in as two different people they’re singing, and then do you do the arm verses in the center, very clever, and very very nice. Keep up the good work I will be watching.

Thank you, I have no intention of being a KZbin Singer but I feel God led me to listen to this. I have been writing sermons and like you said was worried about them not being good enough and just put them up there. But I was embarrassed by the quality and editing and the sermon itself. And was thinking of redoing them. Now I will keep them there for people to see the progression. Thank you for giving me the confidence to live with the old videos.

Thought for a minute that I might skip this video, as nope, nobody wants to hear me sing and I'm certainly not interested in putting a video on KZbin of me singing, as it wouldn't be pretty, lol. 😊 With that said, one of my nephews wrote me a "Thank You" note when he graduated from high school, saying some of the best times he remembers growing up was when the radio didn't work in my car. I'd tell whatever kids I happened to have with me, always took my nephews everywhere, lol, to take turns picking songs and I'd sing to them and we'd all sing the chorus together... yep, that made me cry. 😭 Personally, I hadn't remembered, as life tends to get in the way, but it still makes me cry to this day, knowing that someone's best memories growing up are memories I helped create, it's a beautiful thing, mhm... 🥰 So anyway, I did watch the video and found it pretty interesting actually, so am glad I watched. My son has degrees in Audio Recording and Multimedia Broadcasting, so I did understand some of what you talked about, lol. 🤔 And of course, I can't be 100% sure if the pup likes my singing, or if she thinks I'll stop sooner if she wags her tail faster, but.... I think she likes it, lol. 🥴 Oh and just noticed you hit your goal of 1 million subscribers, so congratulations on that!!! 💜💜💜

Reading some of the comments I know you gave people more confidence in fulfilling their dreams of being a singer. I hope that they take your advice, but there is no way and I mean No Way that with all the great advice and more to come, you can get me to sing. Believe me, if I start singing windows would break. Dan, any advice on finding a vocal coach that actually believes what you do in #1? It seems most of them think "you either have it or you don't" and don't want to waste time on teaching someone that can't already sing. Any idea what questions to ask or some other way to find these unique people that have both the skill and the faith in others? Like really, I know I suck now but I want to learn, dangit!! :D

First, it's difficult for me to write short and sweet, so I apologize for the book. Meow I am most definitely no Dan Vasc, but I can say that at one point, my voice completely sucked, and I was not using proper techniques to sing Metal. In fact, I remember calling a vocal instructor, and she almost told declined giving me lessons because of how damaged my voice sounded. I digress. There is a DVD called "The Zen of Screaming" that has helped many singers I know personally. Google up vocal coaching DVDs for your genre because there are other DVDs out there. Maybe try KZbin tutorials too. Meow, as far as actual lessons go, I went to a college that had voice lessons. So maybe try a school. Online zoom lessons might be a thing too. Lastly, I'll suggest a vocal trainer who teaches the basics, and you just learn techniques from singing ANYTHING. I love singing Metal and Hard Rock, and for my lessons, I found myself singing Italian Folk music, some Show Tunes, even Country on occasion; whatever the instructor told me to practice with I practiced with that. It's easily transferrable to any genre. I hope this helps. Good luck, friend!

I always used to buy the master tracks from the artist. That always worked well for me for public performances if I wasn't singing with a live band, because it was already paid for and I didn't need to worry about anything. In Contemporary Christiann Music, most artists have them available. Never used a track for other popular music - always worked with a band for that. Wireless In ears work for some people - my late husband loved them. I hated them! Lol it's personal preference!

I showed my husband (who is a huge tech nerd) this video, and he’s like: I like him! 😂 the microphone you use in this clip had our son too, until he dropped in the ground, and let me tell you, it doesn’t bounce 😅 a lot of money right out of the window there… I’m building up my confidence to start doing vlogs or flosstube , maybe a couple of songs to when I sing in the choir or solo, I don’t know… right now l just waiting for my relapse to end for this time, or perhaps I need to show the world how my everyday routine looks like when nothing is working… well, now this comment just became a novel so I go somewhere else for a while

Hi, thank you for this nice video. I have got 2 questions :D. 1. How long does it take to make a "perfect" take of a whole song? Let's say you have heard a new album from a power metal band and you liked one song so much that you wanna do a cover. You have to learn the lyrics, the pronunciation and the melodies and harmonies. How long will it take? 2. Can you explain how to set a good EQ, delay and reverb? I was playing around with it in Audacity but it always sounded horrible! What values do you use?
