My husband was atheistic for years. He still calls himself agnostic, but comes to Church every sunday, he even went twice on dec. 24 because the children were in the nativity play in the evening and I sang in the choir during midnight mass. The personal connection to God has not yet happened, but it's like seeing an onion peeled layer for layer. In the meantime, I need patience, it will haplen on his and gods time, not mine. At first it was really uncomfortable though. He was not at all at ease with my sudden conversion. He also was against getting the children baptised, and relnted mostly because the children themselves wanted it. After their baptism though, was when all the negativity startd to go away. He said he looked in the ritual for anything evil, the scam. But he simply did not find it.

I forgot the most important part: Don't give up hope. Pray. Look to Jesus! And through you, he may even me to the Lord himself. Women are like gateways. Think of Mary, through which the saviour came into the world. Try to be as much as our belovad Mother Mary as you can, and everything will be allright. Even if things seems dire

Actions always have and always will speak louder than words. There are some non-Catholics who will definitely watch your every move. And through your actions, some non-Catholics will definitely look into Catholicism and what it’s all about. But there some, and no matter what you do, you could even raise the dead, and still, they won’t get it! Pride runs very deep in the hearts of many. And Jesus said, “ if the world hates you, remember, the world hated me first” Great video Keith! You said what needed to be said in 7 minutes, keep these informative videos coming! I need more strength to stand up for my faith . Some people who I don’t see anymore deliberately goad me taking Our Saviours name in vain . Thank you for the encouraging words Mr. Nestor. I was a protestant for about 30 years with heavily involved in serving from ushering to teaching. But during Covid Churches closed so during that time I began to study the history of the church, and I became orthodox about one year ago. Unfortunately, due to my faith, I have lost 95% of my protestant friends who think I have Apostasized. I knew this was going to be challenging to my life. I miss the fellowship with them. But looking forward to better things. Thanks again for the encouragement.

My neighbors want me to attend their Protestant Church and tell me I am not a Christian. As a nurse patients tell me everyday how they hate Catholics when they see my tiny crucifix. So sorry you’ve gone through this. As a former evangelical wanting to become Catholic, I feel your pain.none of my family members or in-laws are Catholic. They’re all very anti Catholic and my parents thinks Catholics don’t read the Bible or have faith. I’ll be honest, it is very frustrating and it’s a cross I’m learning to bear. The worst part is when they aren’t even open to having a charitable discussion but instead want to be superior in their knowledge of Bible. Even as an evangelical, I always regarded Catholics as my Christian brothers and sisters. One of my in-laws repeatedly tells me the gospel since they are now convinced I believe the false gospel of salvation by works. I really try my hardest to explain that that’s not so but some people just don’t want to hear it. Prayers to you 🙏❤️

There is so much truth there. I've never personally felt hatred from a Jew, muslim, or from members of any other faith. I sincerely think the issue isn't the nature of the individuals being different. But Catholicism seems more threatening in the sense that if Catholicism is correct, then what they think is a lie. And the stakes are the highest possible. That precipitates a strong need to denigrate everything and everyone associated with it. I doubt they care nearly as much about other faith differences in such a passionate manner. Yes they think they're invalid, but so clearly so that they aren't threatened by them.

Keith is right. In most cases it is very tempting to fall in the trap of arguing and wanting to make a point, especially when you want to make the point of the Catholic Church being the true Church. All of this is not due to her own study, but she is taught this at church. Really sad.

I'll be honest, I was away from the Church for many years so I sort of dismissed the Catholic-bashing or didn't think it really ran that deep. I tried several Protestant churches before coming home and truthfully, there was no Catholic-bashing going on at any of those places either. Now, I purposefully avoided Baptist services and stuck pretty much to the non-denominational churches. I found a whole lot of Catholic-bashing online. I heard a sermon by John Macarthur where he trashed our Blessed Mother. I can't get my head around it. Grudges held by Calvin and Luther persist to this day. Amazing. Most of my family and long-term friends don't attend church. Most are far far more liberal than I am. But it's been that way for years and we still love one another. I guess the idea that we weren't supposed to like one another just never occurred to us. Solid advice given here in this video though. Matching hate for hate never ends well. Medgar Evers put it best: “When you hate, the only person that suffers is you because most of the people you hate don't know it and the rest don't care.”

Thanks for the video. It’s an important message and I agree. This 💯 pertinent for where I am now. When my sister asks what I’m listening to (because I was in a road trip this week) and I told her The Catechism in a Year, it was ‘crickets’. I want to be casual but clear about how I’m continuing to study and grow in my faith, even (especially) since I’ve taken the Catholic ‘turn’ and in RCIA. In a small town and being Non-Denom for 32 years, it’s meaning a major change and having to make some changes in my friend circle.

The composition of one's friends is always interesting. Some people seek only like-minded people, while others have variety. In the OT, we see God trying to protect his people by having them only marry within the faith and generally keeping them set aside from others. It reminds me of childhood, where parents try to keep away bad influences in times when the conscience is being formed. But in the NT, we see Jesus calling for evangelization, and he eats with tax collectors and ministers to the Gentiles. When we mature a bit in our faith, we should be engaging people of other faiths at least by having several of them as friends. It helps to still keep a core group of friends of one's own faith, since it is said that the five friends you are the closest to tend to greatly shape who you are.

I remember praying for non-Catholic friends before I headed off to college, and the main people I met early on were non-Catholic. Midway through college, I realized I wanted more Catholic friends again, and prayed for that, and met some of the best Catholic friends I would know for several years. When I was about to move to where I live now, I prayed again for non-Catholic friends, since I felt the balance had swung a bit much in the one direction. I became friends with people of much different faith. But again, I prayed for Catholic friends after a while, and met some more amazing Catholic friends. In hindsight, it seemed backwards. I should have started with those to support my faith, and then those who have the other faiths. I still like how it turned out. I'm often amazed when I find people who seem to only know people of their own faith.

With friends and especially family, that are serious about their faith is where it is really difficult. I also, once a protestant for a longtime was knocked off my horse and led to become Catholic. It was an easy transition. Truth seen, is tuth embraced...if...we actually love truth. As time passes and I've learned the tragic difference and vast chasm between the protestant revolt and His true Church, trepidation set in with a vengeance. Trepidation for their salvation, if they knowingly and obstinantely refuse to see. But trust in Him who is the Lover of souls has grown, and now i have embraced this cross of sorrow, i look to prayer for my best weapon to help them and myself. It is a daily struggle that meets me each day, but one that i daily embrace, and the peace, joy, and hope take control. . Thanks for your words Keith. A great time of harvest is upon us and special graces are active. Many are seeing the light. . Thanks again!

For what partnership do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?” I don’t know what to think on this matter, what are your thoughts on this Edit: I found the video, it’s titled “Should Christians be friends with non-Christians”

Just by the way Keith. When you say "my faith", do you mean, primarily, your faith in the Roman Catholic Church, or your faith in the Son of God? And I, as a believer in the Son of God, find it impossible to believe in the Roman Church. Also, when Jesus said, "You are Petros, and upon this Petra I will build my Church", he most definitely was speaking of Himself and Peter's statement of faith in Him as the Rock upon which he would build His Church. Regarding Matthew 16:18, this is what these Church Fathers had to say: "... for, ‘Thou art Peter’ and not ‘Thou art the rock’ was said to him. But ‘the rock was Christ,’ in confessing whom, as also the whole Church confesses..." Saint Augustine "He did not say upon Peter for it is not upon the man, but upon his own faith that the church is built. And what is this faith? You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Saint John Chrysostom And Eusebius, Origen, Jerome, Basil of Seluecia, Hillary, Ambrosiaster, Epiphanius, Theodoret, Cyril of Alexandria and many many other Church Fathers all said that the "Rock" was either Christ himself or Peter's Confession of Christ. "If our interpretation of Matthew 16 follows the cues of the Church Fathers, then we will not arrive at an interpretation that is favorable to the Roman Catholic interpretation of Matthew 16, that is - the Papacy... For the Church Fathers, the rock upon which the Church was built, fundamentally, was Jesus Christ the Son of God" Gavin Ortlund And even if you don't agree I would invite you to watch Gavin Ortlund on Truth Unites; "Why I Don't Accept the Papacy" One other thing. I am not a troll. I am a believer in Jesus Christ the son of God and I sincerely believe what I write. And may the Lord bless you and yours in the Name above all names. And, in Matthew 18:18 Jesus says to the other disciples: "Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." Matthew 18:18 Kinda sounds like the same thing as in Matthew 16:19 doesn't it?

My Christian friend who is not Catholic has told me she has seen me grow in my Faith since I returned to my Catholic Faith. She is very supportive and was raised Jewish. She even gave me a silver heart bowl to put my rosary in. But there are few like her. I remember hearing lots of Catholic bashing from the pulpit when I was Protestant.

When the “friend” that absolutely hates the Catholic faith is your spouse none of these suggestions will work, ever! When a person is not allowed to be Catholic because the spouse won’t tolerate it, and God doesn’t care, you just give up and say, oh well, whatever. There are many other churches to choose from when you are not allowed to be Catholic and God seems to be totally ok with that. At least in my life. I may want to be Catholic but I realistically realize that I will NEVER be Catholic and God is ok with this. I thought maybe I could get some insight with this video, but that’s not in God’s will. This is a good video for some people but not for me.

Catholicism is work salvation, please turn to Christ in faith as the Bible clearly says we are saved by grace which translates to CHARIS meaning "unmeritted favor/free gift." quite literally. There is a Reason why Paul says in Romans "for the wages of sin is death, but the FREE gift of God is eternal life through christ Jesus our lord." Again grace's literal translation in the Greek is "unmeritted favor/free gift." Salvation is completely free all you have to do is believe that what Jesus did for you 2000 years ago actually worked. He died as a substitute for sin on the cross for you and me because the penalty for sin is death, if the penalty has already been paid and "by grace you have saved through faith" then all you are doing is believing that his payment was for you, a.k.a excepting it and believing you have eternal life as a result of his finished work (and of course believing he rose from the dead as a dead savior can't save you.) The reason you cannot add a work to Christ's finished work is because as Paul makes clear in Romans 11:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." You aren't under grace if you add something to the gospel because grace must be unmeritted for it to be attributed to you. Again, you are just trusting in what Christ already did for you, that's why in ephesians Paul says "after you believed, you were sealed with that holy spirit of promise, which is the GUARANTEE of our inherentance until the redemption of the purchased possession." Paul can't use the word guarantee here if salvation is partially based off of something you do, as obviously YOU can fail in your efforts meaning there is obviously no guarantee. But if it is entirely based off of what Christ did, then there is a guarantee.
