Some advice. For each concept ask : why is it important to know about [concept]. Then go find a bunch of answers. Then ask how it affect/relate/influence/impact other [concept] or things in the topic. Your brain retains stuff that you care so you need to ask why is what you are learning is important or else you’ll forget. (Don’t say “to get good grades”, answer should be around what’s the purpose of the concept or why the concept matters) try to simplify the answers to your own understanding. imagine your little 10 year old brother asks you: why do I need to care about [conceptA]
@ros3g0ldАй бұрын
This is actually really important not just for remembering but also because these questions come up a lot with concept-based subjects. So to do this by yourself first is extremely beneficial for retention and application.

@会供価Ай бұрын
update: some other ways you could do is imagine you are teaching your little brother of 10 years old. Ask yourself "why do I need to care about [concept]? Why does it matter?" These questions are essentially the same as "why it is important"
@Shzy.Ай бұрын
@@会供価 what if ultimate goal is grades?
@会供価Ай бұрын
@@Shzy. just because you want good grades, it wont make you remember the concept. you need to understand why the concept is needed in the first place or whats its purpose, or why it matters and then your brain will care and remember. and then you need to see how it impacts other concepts. you cant look at things in isolation like the way it shown in this video cause all youll do it just remember but not understand
@rako..sАй бұрын
Thanks for the video!!! Appreciate that Here’s the summary just in case: 1. Sleep well - 7+ hours even on weekends 2. Pay attention in the class and participate 3. Use drawings or images to get the concept and remember it 4. Don’t waste time, review 5. Use sticky notes 6. Associate your material with literally anything to remember 7. the most common problem i see is that people try their best to memorize first. its not about memorizing first, u need to first understand the specific concepts. once u can understand the concept itself, everything related to it becomes a lot easier and u can continue studying from there. well actually thats the second most common problem. the main problem is that most people dont listen attentively in class, and end up missing out on the lesson being taught. this causes them to miss out on even hearing about these concepts that they need to understand. another problem i can come up with off the top of my head is overthinking/cramming. when people cram, they rush and cant properly process the information that theyre studying abt. this causes them to overthink during exams, which can lead to failure or running out of time. most of the students who study right before the test usually dont get A+. P.S. lemme clear this up. its not just understanding the concepts. u also need to practice.

some advice here summed up in simple language 1: listen to the teacher 2:list it down 3: remember it at home 4: study that stuff 5: when you feel like you can remember it stop 6: look up some questions with it as the basis 7: answer those questions to the best you can 8: keep doing this until it’s easy to answer 9: bam when there’s a question it’s easy to answer

I don't really do what u said in here (like sleeping and stuff) but what i do similar is that I pay attention to what matters in class from teacher... then I don't study at all except 1 day or 1 hour before the exam (depends on how big it is).. but really what is important is that u understand how ur curriculum works through the years.. understanding that will save 99% of ur effort and make u get higher marks... It's not really sth special or make us smarter Tho... it is just that we figured it out..

1st: just study! The best way to improve. 2nd: dont use quantity and assume it as quality 3rd: do revision or pre-lesson tasks, yeah, everyone knows revision is important. But imagine going in class knowing nothing that your teachers say, you will prob dont know what key words to drop down. 4th: clear everything in your mind during class, what i mean is to clear those things like scrolling vids or musics or whatever. Just be like another person just for school everything in your brain should be academic related, you could chill during recess or lunch, but never during class

If I can I consider myself as the student that learns less than the others but still get like 95% on most of my test. (I am in 12th Grade, Switzerland)Here's what I think of learning and I think it might help some people: With sleeping much and have a fix routine of sleeping I totally agree. What helps too is have an activity that you do during the daytime, where you can think about things that you want. You can do it while walking, jogging, meditating ... With always paying attention in class and asking questions I partially agree. Yes, it helps but sometimes the class is so boring you can't listen to the teacher without your ears falling apart. With sticking notes all over our house is fr ridiculous. But fr. Subscribe to him haha. So what is most important to me? 1. You need a positive attitude toward school. You want to go to school 2. You need to know your strength and your weakness. In some classes you must be dominating the others while in other class you can just be on your phone and do nothing. It's okay. But the question is how do I get good mark if I am always on my phone? Valid question. Here is my answer: You need close friends who are good in some subjects that you don't. And in the classes where you are dominating they are bad. So before your test you can carry your classmate or the other way. Sit together like 3h-5h and he tells all the important stuffs that you learn in the past month. IF HE TALKS YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION. If you don't have friends that sucks. Now how do I learn? The most important thing is to understand and NOT to memorize all the words without understanding. For example: You have a test with 10 Questions with answer A,B,C and D. You pass if you have 70% or more correct. What is the probability that you pass the test when you guessing all the answer? Now what you must do is to understand what type of question that is. What do you use for these type if questions? When do I use binomial distribution? Always when you have a n,x,p and q you use that. What does over 70% mean? So the sum of x = 7,8,9,10 while the other remains the same n = 10, p = 1/4 and q = 3/4. What is the formular. Now don't try to learn all at the time. Learn every topic individually so you don't mix them all up. Try to understand when you use nCr, nPr ... What if it's too difficult for me to understand? That is okay. A new topic can be challenging. Perhaps it helps when you reread a few times. Otherwise I recommend watching videos on youtube how people explain the topic. What is important to is you need to know how to learn each subject. French is NOT chemistry and you need to learn it differently. Like for french words you can use Quizlet and for chemistry you can watch videos. Try to find out what is your type of learning in each subject. This might seem strange but you need to know what kind of person your teacher is and what he wants from you. Do it how the teacher wants and not what you think is good. Some teacher make it these ways and some others. Try to get used to them and the type of test they are doing. You need to know how good you are in each subject and give the time you need to learn these things. Perhaps for french you need 4h and Chemistry only 20min. Don't think like "I'm gonna learn 2h now" but " I learn until I get this topic" So I think that's most of the things I wanted to tell. Thx for reading the long text. If there are any questions you can ask and I'll try to answer. Good luck on all your tests🍀

The reason people who "study less" get better grades isnt because they have some secret method, its cause they're able to keep up while most students who say they study more and get worse grades and because they most likely fell behind. Its just how it goes if you wanna become an excellent student, the start will always be the toughest part.

Ive been doing something which is weird but works . So first of lets say i have to study biology . And the lecture is about an organ ( brain for example) , first you pay attention in class about the lecture when you get home immediatly read the whole lecture 1-2 times . Then rest for like an hour or 2 , then do it again but increase it to 2-3 times. And rest again . And AGAIN read it but increase it to 3-4 times . That is it you learned the lecture . And also all of these take like 10-20 minutes which is an hour a day or if you are a fast reader and have good memory , you can do it in 30-20 minutes . Hope this helps someone
