Excellent video! Sometimes contractors forget “it’s what the customer sees which sells the house” - not the blueprints or how hard you had to work to turn a corner- but, years later the customer will praise your work when the pipes don’t freeze or they can easily access the plumbing to add or replace something- but, doing a great job with the part the customer will never see is also the difference between being “the Sh$t” or being “a Sh$t plumber “ because of corners you cut or cheap fixtures you installed

I'm not gonna lie. When I first started my apprenticeship, I was doing commercial plumbing, and we would refer to the shop drawings (fixture drawings) right from the get-go. I never thought to do a job without referring to them.

Hey dude I love your older style straight talking content and I know you are gonna blow up soon just wondering what state are you operating in I’m a northern Irish teen looking into moving to the US soon and work as a plumber

@@dontknowaname6198 I’m in Texas. Texas is a great state for the trades. The United Association labor union I believe is in Ireland, but I don’t know if they’re in northern Ireland. If you become a brother with the United Association, you could move over to the US easy as you like and walk right into a job

I work in advertising. For storyboards we always (typically) work from the last frame as your default static (meaning not moving) image and work your way backwards. As if, there was no animation/video etc. what's the key thing we're selling? What if something fails on a certain phone etc. You always have that main image to keep customer money intact. In plumbing, the fixture is the only thing the customer sees anyway, right? Complaints require opportunity and quite often in my neck of the woods the best customer is the one that sees nothing and nods their head with a smile. (...even if the fixture is ugly as F, lol). "not the droids you're looking for"

Is it common practice for apprentices to sign contracts in order for the company they work for to send/sponsor them for school. Company I work for wants me to sign an 8 year contract to send me to classes. Just seems like a raw deal when classes are not very expensive.
@brasshouse-og27 күн бұрын
@@tylerhathaway4772 no effing way. At the union they make it so apprentices have to sit on the bench and go one month without pay if they quit before their apprenticeship is up but that’s about as extreme as I have heard. I would ask them what guaranteed pay raises you would see during that time if for some reason you agreed to that crazy shit.
