Very helpful. Especially where you showed what happens with poor tension. Now I understand how to fix it.

How do you tack down the beads on a turn with 2 needle beading? I am re-teaching myself how to sew this method & Thank you for teaching me about the tensions beforehand my beads were crooked from pulling too tightly on the tack down needle. I am Gwit’chin Athabascan Indian from Alaska. Haven’t sewn beads or done beadwork since I was 11yrs but old. I am (the aunty, the elder) now & need to pass on our ways to my Nieces & my children. Please help me with tacking down my flower petals (turns) I would imagine it’s the same process but you can really see my thread. Anna’ Bassee (Thank you my friend), R. Hope

My beads keep gapping wherever I tack! I’m now seeing the two different thread sizes you recommended - is the smaller thread size supposed to be the tacking thread? 🆘

Yes :)

I didn’t see different size threads! I use size 11/0 seed beads plz tell me what is the best threads you use please!! That may be a big reason I can see my thread so much when I tack down and go around my patterns (flower petals.)

@@rochellehope4015 LOL it was a whole learning process! I’ve started using Nymo size D. I double up my “main line” (the one you put the beads on) then I only tie one side of my tacking thread and let one side hang out. That way, as you move tacking down beads you can move the needle on your thread to allow more space and because it’s only one line of thread pinning the line down it doesn’t gap as much. I hope that made sense!

That's way too much time consuming to do it this way.

When you get accustomed to 2 needle and master your own technique, it’s really fast, like I use 2 needle and depending on the pattern I can pretty much fully need moccasins in about a week, it’s all about practice
