beadaholique.com - Learn how to bead weave a toggle clasp using a combination of brick stitch and peyote stitch. This round part of the clasp was made using a 20mm Quick Link round but any circular form will do. Three types of beads are used, 2 which are size 11/0 and 1 which is size 15/0. Make a custom toggle to match your bead weaving projects.

Sewing the bail to the toggle bar seemed difficult and fiddly. It worked well to sew the bail onto the 12 row peyote fabric BEFORE zipping up the bar. Excellent clear video. Thank you.

I'm using a copper washer with a half inch hole in the center with clear seed bead with a silver lining and turquoise colored opaque seed beads. It's working out so pretty, I was thinking if you made it bigger, you could use it for a pendant! I'm not sure if the beaded toggle will go thru it but if not, I'll just make one out of copper wire.

The toggle pieces are lovely, but what do I use them for? How do I attach them to, say, a necklace or some other item?

@hk95501 Conditioning your thread makes stitching easier (goes through the beads more smoothly) and it also reduces the instances of tangling, knotting, and fraying. You can use products like Beeswax or Thread Heaven Thread Conditioner. Watch our video on "How to Condition Thread for Bead Weaving" to learn more.

Using a tube as a tool is a great idea! One question: When sewing the ring is the size of the blue and the first white beads 15/0, the second, finishing, the white beads are 11/0, yes?
@beadaholique
@beadaholique 6 жыл бұрын
You are correct. The darker seed beads used are 11/0 Toho and the two other, smaller ones, are 15/0 Miyuki Delica.

Hi Julie, this is Julia! :o) What TYPE of thread are you using? I tried using some kind of thread I bought when I first started beading and decided I didn't like thread, something called nylo or nymo, something like that. But I hate it, even with conditioning with my bee's wax, it's just very difficult for me to work with. I usually use monofilament in a 4 or 8 lb line or the really thin beading wire. Your thread looks rather coarse, but that might just be due to the color. Thanks.

Were you planning on letting your audience know that your second color of 11/0's are but just miyuki but delicas?
@beadaholique
@beadaholique 3 жыл бұрын
Mmm you're right, the 2nd row and those 15/0s along the top are delicas. We should have made that clearer. The technique will work with rounds or delicas, but if you're duplicating the sample piece then you'll want delicas. When in doubt check the video description, we always list the supplies we used. We've been working on updating the descriptions on older videos too so that they're still a useful reference even when we no longer carry some of the items.

@@beadaholique I have to apologize because in the description it does say delicas. My comment was presumptuous and inconsiderate.

Rebekah Thomas We don't currently have a video showing how to attach these to bracelets made on looms. You would first need to back your loom piece and then somehow stitch these on. I can add the idea to our request board :) How to Finish and Back Bead Loom Weaving www.beadaholique.com/t-video-How-To-Finish-And-Back-Bead-Loom-Weaving.aspx?KZbin&
