You’ve really nailed the special inputs! Super consistent!

Thanks for stopping by. Always nice to meet another SF1 enthusiast. I thought your video was going to be super basic normie stuff (most vids on sf are) but i was pleasantly surprised. Nice to see you get some objective data that cotelates with the techniques I came up with.

@@riggel8804 thanks buddy. Yeah I was frustrated by the lack of detailed info I could find out there. To be fair, most of my videos are more along the basic normie line of things 😝

“There’s some fuckery in this game…”. That pretty much sums up my thoughts with the controls in this game! I’ve spent plenty of time trying to fully dial this one in, but it just never clicks. I fee like I get better, but never get ‘good’. Nice playing here though!

Thanks! It was a fun quick play through. I bet you were playing on a pad. The game is a nightmare with a pad.

Have you owned a Triniton KV32FS13 before? One in mint condition popped up on Offer up for FREE. Gotta jump quick or itll get snatched up. Looks pretty heavy

ye. Those tend to be older and have better geometry compared to the 100 series Wegas. I recommend picking it up.

Haha yeah. I call him Chris Chan in this video. He does forward, half circle forward release all 3 punch buttons to do a fireball. Crazy.

Hey Riggel, great quality CRT recording. How come the upload is 1080p50? What is the source material refresh rate and shutter speed you went with? As I recall, you use a phone with the app that allows you to dial in, but I'm curious to why is it 50fps instead of the usual 60fps. Some arcade games run at weird frequencies, like Mortal Kombat at 53.20 Hz.

Wut up Hellbilly? Yea your right I got an app on my iphone that lets me dial in the refresh rate, frame rate etc. Lately what I have been doing with it is trying different refresh rates around 1080p and letting it auto adjust until the rolling bar goes away. Some games just seem to need different refresh rates to get rid of the rolling bar. Apparently this one needed 50.

@@riggel8804 All is well, bud. Thanks for replying as usual. Ever since we talked last time, I made a lot of advances towards my CRT footage goal. I gave up on that Canon 60D with Magic Lantern method, bought a Lumix G7 that has no syncho scan but was cheap to get some experience, then finally, yesterday I got a Lumix GH4, which allows shutter speed fine-tuning. My goal is to get a GH5S, because that camera has a low pass filter built in that eliminates moire, which is a problem right now for me, as I shoot at angles for my desired aesthetics. Phone for me is not ideal, because I will be shooting long playthroughs and might even stream in the future, and I just prefer cameras personally. Anyway, I asked you about the 50, because as you know, some consoles have a refresh rate slightly below 60. That means that when shooting at 60fps, I cannot go below 1/60 on the shutter speed on a camera, which means I do get a rolling bar - very slightly visible, but still there. Coury from My Life in Gaming told me they shoot their footage at 30fps (actually 29.97) with the GH5, which then allows then to set the synchro scan below 60 and dial it in to avoid the rolling line. That, however, is too low of an fps for me to shoot, and I will get the disappearing characters, etc. After seeing that number on your video, I thought - what if I set the camera to PAL, which then will shoot at 1080p50, then adjust the shutter speed to 59.9 - and yep, it worked! I then feed it to OBS via Cam Link, and it looks great, no rolling bar whatsoever, and I cannot perceive the 10 missing frames discrepancy! So from now on, that's how I will deal with any console or game that outputs at below 60 refresh rate, while the consoles that output slightly above 60, I can record at 1080p60 normally. Besides that, thank you for making this video, because I have played Street Fighter before and I could never get the damn special moves to come out. Although my fight stick is broken right now, once I sort it out, I'm gonna pop that game in and try out your techniques.

@@hellbillymods45 haha recording crts is definitely an adventure. I record a lot of arcade footage and EVERYTHING is under 60 hz. Most games are 59 hz. I think most people talking about these games just call them 60hz because they are usually really close to 60hz. Unfortunately if you don't have your camera synced up EXACTLY then you are going to get a rolling bar. Good idea setting it pal 50hz. I don't think you are going to notice the difference in frames. I have recorded in 30 hz before and when doing that I get really good still images but there is a weird blurring effect with movement. It's not terrible and it's better than getting a rolling bar but I try to avoid it. I've never heard of a filter that eliminates moire but that would be awesome. It makes sense that a filtering method is available. When filming lcds I get moire as well so it is a current problem. I've come up with a couple tricks for dealing with moire but it is a problem every time.

@@riggel8804 There you go, a demonstration of the GH5S low pass filter working its magic on the moire, versus the regular GH5, just skip to the 9:55 timestamp, where LGR compares both: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3uuh2qcia-Ff8U Right now I only have the GH4, and it will be a few months until I get a GH5S, so until then I gotta get the image out of focus to ditch the moire. It's a crying shame, to see RGB/YPbPr so sharp in front of you, but have to downgrade it making it blurry in order to ditch moire on film. Kinda makes it look like it's between S-Video and composite, not too bad, but it could be better on film to match what I see... damn you, moire! It's so bad I can see moire clearly with the TV turned off, when the camera is sharp on focus. I'm recording on the SNES right now, so luckily that one goes past 60Hz, but yeah, it looks like most consoles are below 60 as well, so in my case that PAL trickery is a must. Well, at least I found some use for PAL on anything. Either way, your footage looks excellent, well done.
