@@lopa-u9f It seems to me that Mike has three voices. When you've watched a few videos, it becomes easy to tell them apart. One is his "Bill Burr of martial arts" comic voice -- caustic, cynical, slightly mean, but very insightful and funny. One is his real voice that's nicer and more friendly -- lots of nerdy references. The third is his instructor voice, which is very exacting, but also very patient and careful about conveying the ideas in accurate detail.

The details around 5:00 about how Danny throws that inside low kick are cool to notice. At 5:00 he kicks with his left hand down while at 5:16 he keeps it up since he's closer. I'm pretty sure this is done simply by feeling, by instinct, which shows how much XP he has. He was closer and more to the inside in the danger zone so his left arm simply stayed up by itself :)

If you're an interior fighter (Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Peek-a-boo boxers, etc.) learning how to "stalk" (pursue carefully and precisely while staying defensively responsible) an outside fighter is a critical skill. If you can't stalk effectively, then you won't be ready to pounce on an entry opportunity. But if you're a good stalker, you can appear faster than you are to more athletic outside fighters. Great conversation.

I'm blue belt Kickboxer and during those years I've been training some Muay Thai along my team (we had split teams on my old group), by far, the most important thing to me on fight against an Muay Thai fighter is always respect they endurence. If you're landing a punch, make sure they will feel it, this is not just a point fight. Doesn't mean that you had to harm any spar mate, but being hit is "part of the game", and man.. They will hit you. Second and most important thing, DON'T TRY BE LIKE THEM. Play you own game, don't take unecessary damage just because *they* can absorb impact. Respect your opponent and yourself!
