HOW TO BEAT ALL THE MK8 DELUXE STAFF GHOSTS | Part 1: Nitro Tracks, 150cc (Live Commentary)

Hey everyone, welcome to a little series I'm putting together where I beat all of the staff ghosts on 150cc and 200cc. In this first video, I'm going to be going through all the Nitro Tracks, which includes Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, and Special Cup.
The reason I'm doing this is not to flex, but to provide some runs that can act as a starting point for more casual players of the game. These runs will not be using any mushrooms or any advanced strategies whatsoever, so I hope that this is useful for people who aren't as tryhard as me. Good luck!

Also a tactic I use is the dash start basically once I start my boost at the start of the race I use a dash mushroom this basically means while the dash mushroom boost is running my starting boost is kept and then continues once the dash mushroom’s run is over

That strategy is used to immediately speed up to full speed instead of a boost. It’s called a ShroomStart.

Hey dude thanks a lot for these strategies, i just beat the staff ghosts in the first 4 trophies but unfortunately in a few courses i raged a lot because i was trying to do the same things that you did but sometimes it happens that i slide too much or i randomly slow down since i'm not a master with the drift and i still had to use my mushrooms when these unfortunate things happened but i still managed to beat some tracks without using them and without taking some shortcuts.

In general yeah, or you can use biddybuggy. Build doesn't matter much tho as long as you're using roller tires

Only watched the first third of the video here, the thing that surprised me the most is that you generally don’t go for the walls with the ramps on Thwomp Ruins and Toad Harbor. Why are they suboptimal?

In general is just slower than going around. I haven’t watched the world records in a while, but if they do go around, it will most likely only be on lap one and that’s to grab coins

Like the last commenter, 200 CC took a bit but was easy after a while. This is wrecking me. I'm used to karts, but have switched to bike. I feel like I'm doing something wrong with my drifts. I use them aggressively in karts. However, I seem unable to get the sharp, tight lines you get. Even on the most basic course my drifts come out far wider than yours. Any suggestions?

If you’re using standard bike like I do in this video the drifting should be more or less the same. There are some bikes like Yoshi bike sport bike and comet that have a very different style of drifting, so if you’re using one of those that might be why

@@Bayesic I'm an IDIOT. I was struggling because I was playing 200 cc ghosts the entire time. I was trying to not use brake drifting thinking it was 150 cc 😆 I kept feeling over and over like I'm going far faster than your video segments. I finally realized my ghosts were different and checked the ghost time at the end of one. This feels so much easier.

So on Water Park, I have beat the regular staff ghost with Nin* in front of the name, but there is another ghost who’s name is in all Asian characters and I can’t even come close to this one. Like his time is more than 10 seconds better than mine. The tips you give do not seem to help with this ghost.

What’s the time cause it could be a WR ghost in which case yeah these tips won’t help you there I do have a water park tutorial that might help but it’s fairly old and I need to update it

It's when you go into time trials, click on a track, and then "View Ghost" and look at the ghost with "NIN " in their name
