25:05 its funny that eric is so ingrained in chess that the letters g and m next to each other always registers to him as the acronym for grandmaster, instead of "g money jr."
@MattePurple1
@MattePurple1 Жыл бұрын
Haha good catch. Just a note, an acronym is a pronounceable word like SCUBA or NASA. GM is an initialism, because you just say the letters (CIA, DMV, ATM).

6:05 maneuvers like this are the reason why Eric is an IM. Ideas like this wouldn't even come to mind for low rated players. Hey, let's just sac all the pieces including the queen because at the end we have a fork that gets the opponent's queen and after that we have more pawns in a pawn endgame. And he sees this in a matter of seconds. This is the kind of stuff low rated players like me need to see, to learn to think like good players

Agreed! Look at games Magnus plays, he's master at the endgame and he never trades into a losing one, watch some streams of him playing and you'll see him do it all the time.

He says "I'm not playing with my food," then less than ten minutes later, he intentionally hangs a rook to try to get connect 8 with his pawns 😂 I absolutely love it.

@12:58 I think Eric's Queen would have got trapped if he took the pawn after Ng4 Qxg7 Bf6

@janopa9719 Жыл бұрын
There's a pawn on e5, you'd just take the bishop. If Qxf6 then you can trade queens at minimum and you're up a piece and a few pawns
