Awesome guide!!! I don't do time trials much because I'm not a speedrunner person. HOWEVER. Beating N. Tropy's times once a day has taught me new racing lines and has made me more comfortable doing so. I've almost mastered the Spiral!!! I hop and don't bump the side, but I need practice maintaining sacred fire.... Also, I've hit some kind of "evolution point." I don't drive the same anymore and I look at the tracks differently. I think I finally shook off over 10 years of Mario Kart skills....

You will need to control your U-Turn, Over U-Turning can be a problem as well if you overdo it. Also, lack of speed will make your character over U-Turn as well, that's why you need some speed

The strangest thing happened to me when trying Velo's ghost here. In the spiral section, I was performing a U-Turn, but I turned a little too much in the end and drove slightly off the track. I ended up sliding a little bit off but i somehow must have corrected myself because the side of the plank tossed me forward? I gained a pretty fast speed by doing so, but i am unable to replicate it.

You probably managed to get what's called a "Speed Ghost" (or SG, for short.) Basically, in this game you can mess the physics a bit and by hitting a wall or some weird spot you can get a massive speed, faster than Blue Fire. Viper also made a video on SGs, you should check it out for a deeper explanation.

@@MatteoKysely i know what a speed ghost is, but i thought you only could use gravity to get those. If that was a speed ghost, you can get it on any map with an edge of some sort

That's an anonymous speed ghost you just did there. Speedghosts are everywhere, just depends on whether you meet the criteria. Hell, you can even speedghost off ther players rofl

So glad I finished the velo ghosts. But velo wasnt that bad on dragon mines. I think we were tortured so bad with oxide we got desensitised to it haha.

Just beat him tonight, and without taking the shortcut. The trick is to get the hang of u-turning and try to keep that sacred fire for as long as possible. You can make one or two mistakes and still beat him. I have only one advice to everyone, practice, practice and more practice on single race, believe me, it works.

Thx to u i did it with shortcut but the 2nd lap if u trying did the shortcut beware of mine car to mjch speed u will follow the mine car from behind and get smash and less so much u will stuck in the middle Better do it like this in my opinion ( if u can keep skare fire ) : lap 1 do it lap 2 no lap 3 do it

I recommend that you use drift or turn class for cortex castle track,i tried ring rally with that class worked well

Arya Dega Drift class was the only way I could beat Velo in Deep Sea Driving based on the method Viperian presented in his video, so I definitely think you have a point about it being better for Cortex Castle, but I did eventually manage to beat it with speed class.

Dragon mines is a hard track, but I don't think it's as hard as lots of people think. The out of time velo ghost drove me crazy, that track lives up to the hype of being hard.

Man... today I only beat Oxide with this method. And tried against Velo, BUT still struggling him... Also: each tries make me closer to defeat him. So basicly the same method against Oxide works on Velo too. I used Drift, my personal favorite :D
