@@djpaladino I'm just saying, manual beat match is not rocket science, all you need to know is how to count to 8 and actually hear tempo mismatch. If u need someone to show you something that's so obvious, maybe it's not your thing
@djpaladino4 жыл бұрын
pointtwentyfree maybe he just needs some extra advice. Depending on who you are and who you listen to it can change how you understand it. Telling someone to give up is just plain stupid, even if it takes time keep doing what you love. Don’t project your weaknesses into others, just because you would give up doesn’t mean someone else has to.

It's so much fun to beat match by ear. That's one of the reasons I love spinning vinyl, plus I love the feel of the old school technic 1200s, the new MK7s pitch fader feels so cheap
@abdulhameedanbar52752 жыл бұрын
You’re my favorite dj to learn from, very simple and genuine explanations. Beat matching reminds me when there was 2 leaks at the same time in my bedroom toilet and I listen to them while they disturb my sleep, yet they sounded great when one drop catches the other and match it 😅😂

Really well done, this is something 100% of all DJs should know. Sink does not always work correctly and you have to know how to fix this on the fly. If you don't know how to beat match by ear. Take the time to practice this, it's the MOST important skill when mixing.

I'm coming from videos on beat matching by ear using TT's. One big difference I see is the cue button on the CDJ. With a TT, you have to manually cue each time you attempt syncing. However, it seemed to take way longer to sync tracks on a CDJ, blinded of course, than it took to match the TT's. I know it all takes practice with the controls and training the ear. After a while it becomes second nature and you can sync tracks faster.

The software is dreadful at getting BPM on music with real instruments played by people. Then beat matching also becomes hard. I normally find a bar or two that i can loop (hopefully the time doesn't move too much in a couple of bars) and practice using this to beatmatch on the outro of the other deck riding the platter to move it around as the transitions approaches, and then do a pretty quick transition. I'm not very good at it yet but i'll keep practicing.

Hello ,nice video. Ok, my first player was a cdj100 , then i upgraded to cdj200 because it reads mp3 , it's just a hobby , i do it @ home. What are the significance of the percentage on the first player? I see that the cdj200 has the same below the bpm counter. But it has from 0.00% to 0.50% the same bpm ex: 128 0.00% and 128 0.50% , at 0.55% it already went up to 129bpm. So if you don't beatmatch by ear , what percentage you have to set to be at the same beat as the other song?
@justino90423 жыл бұрын
I think that beat match by ear its something more easy than hit the play bottom at the right time in the exactly moment in the exact beat that you need to. That's the more hard thing to do. And something more scared than beatmatching.
@giuseppebuonocore95463 жыл бұрын
Why one cannot use sync to beatmatch? Every dj I see use platters for the new song to be in phase with the other so I guess that there is still some advantage of beatmatching manually, isn't it?

If you had a watch you could just make your life a lot easier by just counting the beat per minute, that's how we did it back in the 80's and all the time you were fidgeting around there you would have been done and got your count and wala, mix done. Everyone has their own ways of doing things, i know that would bother the crap out of me. I would rather count my beats for the whole minute and get it over with.
