This is one of my favorite game modes. It's all about memorizing the spawns, and traps since they are all the same. Yeah there's some bad rng sometimes with items you get. In my run to beat it under 20mins, I actually had to finish off Marguerite with the survival knife. Luckily I had both defense items.

Another great video, specifically because you show what to do when loot luck is not on your side, but you still want to finish. There probably still was a bit of luck involved in the second Margerite fight plus you got some weapons towards the end, but still a good example how to make something out of almost nothing.
