I don't even mind the episode length, it's been really helpful to get me back into the swing of things. Also, over 6 years, I never used half the utilities in the game for assists (flashbangs, scentblock etc) but your series is really making me think about what exactly I want to do and then think how exactly I can achieve it with as little resources lost, and casualties. Also, don't entertain the peeps giving you shit about the series, if their "criticism" boils down to it not being "for them" then it's not worth replying to Keep up the awesome work dude, you're helping more than just new players.

Those Mysterious Broadcast missions that you get from Red Talons that want you to investigate either a cell tower or a water tower are so good. In another episode you was asking when they came and they are very new to the game. The mission came with Update 34.1 - Creep It Real in late 2023 (either november or december I think since I don't remember exactly when it dropped). My favorite is getting either the suppressed smg (9mm weapon) or the suppressed assault rifle (5.56 weapon). Since they come loaded with a full magazine plus an additional 40 loose bullets. Which means you get a free suppressed weapon and 70 bullets in total (if you get smg or assault rifle) from doing one easy mission. I have done that mission a lot of times. And sometimes instead of getting one of those suppressed weapons the crate contains a crossbow and a rucksack of resources. The crossbow is one of the echo types of crossbow. So if you are lucky you can get the repeater crossbow from that crate of supplies.

Brian, you going after the crossbow killer always makes me smile. I still remember that first game I watched of you playing Lethal when it first came out and you were in Providence at the starter base still and you got one shotted in the face with a crowbar by the female crossbow killer. It was wild. I think we were all in shock. I love this play thru. I have played quite a few lethal run thrus now and I am still learning so much. One thing is patience. Been enjoying this series for a few days now. I watch 1 episode a day to prepare myself for the Lethal playthrough. I've mastered Dread difficulty and are comfortable with Nightmare. But the few times i've tried to start a Lethal one i get absolutely demolished. So far, the 8 episodes i've watched have been very informative to the point that i actually think i'd survive for a few in-game days atleast. Thanks Brian for this great series. Love the length of the videos too. It's fun to watch you take your time, it's easy to follow and very entertaining. :)

Did you start your lethal run? Were you successful? I was having the same problem. Mastered dread, got very comfortable in nightmare to where it wasn't as challenging. I would have to intentionally challenge myself or do stupid stuff. But as soon as I tried lethal I could only last a couple days. But I've watched this series and took some tips, been taking my time and doing ok. I went to the church instead because I had woke up plague hearts around there. That's one thing I wish he had shown earlier, because most ppl he's doing this for probably woke a plague heart early on. And that changes things in a big way. Pushes you to take out a heart before you are ready. So I had to figure it out. My base got 2 sieges, ppl got banged up and outposts were infested. Forced me to go on the offensive with a shovel and a box mine, with the worst curveball active, that makes the zombies stronger and impervious to fire, right over my ao and the PHs I had to take out. Luckily I got a mission just before, the one where you help 2 ppl and they ask to join them you take them back to base. I took them to the plague hearts instead. Got 2 PHs down. One of the ppl died there and the other got plague. I only had 2 meds, I went to make a cure and the stupid UI made me craft bandages. So I had to euthanize her. That was like day 3. With my starter 3 ppl. I've got 6 now, living in the church about day 10 I think. Just took out the last 2 woke PHs so I'm getting a break to catch up on resources. I probably couldn't have gotten this far without Brian's help. Even though I was forced to go on the offensive early, very different from his playthrough, I still learned a few tips to get me through it

I had that auditory curve ball affecting my base in a 1 Day old community on one lethal zone playthrough and after agroing two jugs at the same time, almost wiped my run. 2 of the 3 members got insta ripped apart after getting bp, and my active toon got BP as well. Had to run over the stupid jugs and craft a cure before the timer finished me off. It can be no joke. Even worse than a black heart when it's over your base.

Indeed, don't worry about the complaining by some. I prefer playthroughs like this; they truly showcase a more realistic situation that can happen to regular players vs something that looks like it but is in fact very scripted and edited thing making the creator look good. Also, this is a kind of game I might get for myself ... but ... often, although a certain game isn't for me and I would not enjoy major gaming mechanics of it, I still enjoy experiencing the story together with a content creator who also adds value via their commentary.

5:14 Wow. My first ever play through was lethal and I got to day 30. I was a complete noob and I probably had around 5 hearts left before I rage. I lost all my favorite survivors, lost my favorite enclaves, cars😢. Not to mention every single day was need cure, use cure, repeat.

Mad respect! Great job at this play through. I have been running into issues myself: finding plague samples. Does it reduce drops with stealth kills? Better to use blunt vs blade? I always lose the respect of that enclave that wants more samples.

I've watched all 9 parts so far, and Brian is really getting nice curveball RNGs (we go kill a heart, boom. stamina curveball. we trading. boom trade curveball). i don't really mind the slow paced and a lot of stealth playstyle since i play like that as well. That said, here's hoping he gets some of those curveballs that awakens the heart. Not because I want him to lose or something, but i want to see how he reacts to it. I like watching his reactions when something goes bad and he stops talking and went like full game mode on lol. Those curveballs are the ones that really gets annoying in some of my playthroughs. Like i just killed a heart and am a bit short on resources, then a heart just awakens because of a curveball. Like black heart, weak heart, out for blood, or the fueling the plague. The real annoying ones are the fuelling the plague and the out for blood since with both, they kinda counters your stealth a bit. (fueling the plague causes zombies to explode, while out for blood, they run at full speeds)

I disagree with the "no need to promote a leader at the start" Getting an early builder leader or early sherif leader is pretty useful Builder leader has a bunch of builder legacy missions that basically spawn you free materials and sherif on top of having a lv3 lounge (which is an incredibly powerful building) also has sherif legacy mission that when completed gives you "plague heart supplies" a call-in on like 10min cooldown that gives you 2 rucksacks for only 150 influence Other 2 leaders have pretty whatever missions from what i remember tho (trader one is unironically detrimental to you since one of them requires you to abandon one of your people lul)

There is 1 thing that caused me to stop playing this game. Hostiles. I just started a fresh nightmare playthrough and I died doing the 1st Sherriff mission. The zombies never attack them, they never seem to die, and they didn't even have guns. After using 20+ shotgun shells and repeatedly hitting/shooting them in the face while they're on the ground, I managed to kill just 1 until I got stuck in the corner of the porch. One of them hit me 6 times with a heavy weapon and that's how I died. I ALWAYS avoided hostiles because they are dumb.

I play Nightmare difficulty and never had any issue while fighting hostile, never used shotguns because i think those weapons are weak as hell tho, but like, using some 5.56 or 7.62 caliber guns, and aiming in the head, it takes me like 10 bullets to kill humans, so staying close to a cover makes it rly easy, and if you have a flashbang grenade it's even easier

@@sarkynn711 Yeah, first playthrough in a few years and I died on the 1st mission with hostiles. Don't get me wrong, I beat the game on Lethal a few times, but I avoided missions with hostiles as much as possible. I have a few horror stories, for sure. One time I was doing the last cannibal mission and I used zombait to fill the house with zombies and they just stood there. The hostiles ended up rushing me walking through molotovs, pipe bombs, and gun fire to pretty much kill me instantly. There's nothing worse than losing one of your best characters and all that loot while leaving a car with a full trunk across the map and having to start the mission all over again. The bloater bombs and using the car can be effective, but you can't use the car everywhere, and bloater bombs take some work to get.

@Stranzua A true horror story indeed, I have never used zombait, it seems to depend a bit too much on how the IA of both the hostile and the zombies react to it to be trully effective, and for fire, it didn't seem that effective to me but that could be a skill issue from me I also noticed that hostiles, on higher difficulties, have a pretty decent resistance to explosives, and can sometimes dodge the explosion, so i really only stick to killing them with bullets, higher caliber the better, with 0.5 caliber bullets being able to one shot in the head even in nightmare difficulty, but really expensive methode to be honnest

@Brian Menard still no black heart? on my 8 day i had black heart with weakness on explosives. the one that gives u blood plague and ur fuel on car goes zero on 5 sec's tops. 9th day i got the other heart where zombies explode and catching fire if u hit them. 1000+ hours on lethal and that was very very veeery challenging. i also lost a member after a long time. black hearts is no joke cause u cant use ur car and zombies chase u all over the place. u cant hide behind buildings they follow u everywhere. some curveballs are no joke for sure!!

Damn the fact brian have to put a disclaimer to pepole who play lethal zone and say stupid shit going as far as money reason feel retarded, the pacing is perfect for new players, i had trouble beating nightmare zone clean, and know i have a smooth lethal playtrought, brian made it easy.. + i want to learn as much as possible, i learned way more with this videos comparing to streams, format is better to learn, stream are for entertainment i feel, this is the best serie on the internet if you never played/beat lethal zone thats it.
