Apparently he originally got this idea from a Craigslist ad. The ad had a guy in a walrus costume and wrote something like "if you want the room you have to dress up as a walrus and act like one" it was a harmless cute joke I honestly can not believe someone would look at a funny joke like that and think "huh what a funny joke. @@z.o.a.r.7813 I am not sure which two you mean - so i explain both. Howard fought (and killed) the original Mister Tusk because he was starving while wounded on an island, and it was his only way to survive. For Howard and Wallace - Howard still felt guilty for killing and eating Mister Tusk, so he wanted to fight a -fair- fight against Mister Tusk to relief his guilt. That's the whole reason for turning someone into a walrus - he wanted a fair fight with the original walrus. :) Hope that makes it clear.

Brown recluse spiders are also found in the Pacific northwest. My father was once bit by one on his leg. Most can't bite thought human skin. I heard about one single spider incident, but the spider came over a ship with bananas from I don't know where in the household. Black widdow I think. What happens without antibiotics? Can the Brown recluse spider kill? The only bad thing here are the ticks, but it's Note about illness and viruses and people who try to get it out without the right help or utensils.

He’d warn us how gruesome they are beforehand and let anyone that wants to, leave before he showed us. He’d go get anyone that left when he was done showing us. LoL, I enjoy fantasy role playing games . I was running a particular session and I had an evil very powerful Wizard polymorph a player's character into a Seal. What I plotted out was this player's character was a Lawman of sorts who captured this malefactor as part of a larger operation to apprehend an illegal gambling ring that stole property and money by rigging games . It so happened that one of the members of this ring was a powerful wizard that altered his appearance to look like a scruffy " hick" and then was able to escape the jailcell using magic . That wizard then took vengeance upon that Lawman who captured him by turning the Lawman into a Seal . That player who had his character turned into a Seal was not pleased and I of course let that player "sweat" for a while before I set the scene for the polymorph to be able to be reversed through the magic of another more powerful wizard . Seeing my Buddy acting like a Seal ,complete with "barking" more or less like a Seal and clapping his hands like flippers whilst he roleplayed his character in that predicament was some seriously funny stuff. So I saw what someone would do in a fantasy setting if they were turned into a Seal. Not quite a Walrus but taxonomically related ,as Seals and Walruses are Pinnipeds that shared a common Ancestor . 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I did not know what to expect when I went into watching this movie with my best friend. We knew it was a Kevin Smith movie & had heard the original short story script on the SModcast podcast, but there was no way of listening to them discuss it without assuming it would be a bit funny to watch. I have to tell you, I instantly fell in LOVE WITH THIS MOVIE! It is terrifying & Justin Long does such a spectacular job. The added horror of his best friend having an affair with his girlfriend behind his back is also just sheer perfection. It was so unexpected & bizarre. The only part about the movie I would change is Johnny Depps character. The character comes off like a joke, but in a movie that's this disturbing, having someone play him more like a straight up genuine weirdo, rather than a silly caricature would have pushed things to such a new depth. Side Note: The gas station clerks are Lily Rose Depp, Johnny's Daughter, & Harley Quinn Smith, Kevin's daughter. Also, Yoga Hosers was a trainwreck as a follow-up connected story.

Spoiler Alert: Man in the movie, I almost cried my heart out. The fact that he was kidnapped and tortured in several ways, yet the killer wasn't done. He even took his privilege as a human being. I can't possibly put myself in that situation, I feel sorry.

I agree. Didn't think the movie was a comedy in any way. It was just disturbing and gross

100% agree. I never even watched the movie, I just watched bits and pieces of a video Roanoke Gaming did about it but even that small exposure to it made me unable to sleep and feel nauseous. And keep in mind I love horror, even body horror like the Slither and objectively scarier stuff like the stories by Junji Ito.

@@Scarecrow_Crane So I love horror and also watched Roanoke Gaming's video and yeah the thing is the movie has so little horror in it vs how much dark comedy they try and lean into (it just doesn't work and it's not even funny.) If you watch it you'll be less scared then when you watch videos about it because they skip all the boring stuff... though I still don't recommend it, not a great watch. Everything you've seen in this video and Roanokes is basically all the scenes. (Wait did Roanakes video show the very final scene where it's clear wallace is still human in there because of his tears at seeing his fiancée and his best friend together. That's the one part that is often skipped in videos about Tusk) It honestly feels like a meaner human centipede trying to be funny.

@@Scarecrow_Crane Oh... Slither is way worse than Tusk imo, Tusk is pretty bad too in the body horror-meter, I mean both choices are horrifying but in the Slither's case after all the body horror, the victims still die a painful death, even though in a medical point of view Wallace should had died a painful death days after his transformation too...

@@caranostalgico9249 You’re absolutely right, but for some reason Slither just didn’t have the same visceral effect on me. I think maybe it’s because the threat in Slither was literally alien and not human, so it adds distance psychologically, while the threat in Tusk was a human being.

The ending was pretty funny when he fought Howard and then it was just him living his life casually in a wildlife preserve, but the earlier parts of the movie were pretty creepy

I love this movie for the fact that it’s an absurd horror comedy but also poses the philosophical question of what separates man and beast. Knowing it comes from Kevin Smith, who is vegan, can make you see it in a lens that shows the cruelty of man while also keeping its wacky comedic plot.

@1:41, I wouldn't say being old automatically rules out the ability to do harm. Dorothea Puente was in her 50s when she started killing. Plus, if Wallace has a blunt object, he can BLIND Howard by knocking glass into his eyes or Wallace can also use the wheelchair to break the lenses, meaning Howard maybe can't see without his glasses and Wallace can also injure Howard's hands and/or fingers by rolling over them. Does Teddy see dead people? :)
