To be fair, it has been getting easier and easier with each game in the series. I went back to play Yellow, and even though the original games don't have a bunch of things people now consider "staples" of Pokemon, it still isn't that difficult. I'm just gliding through it. Went back to play Red and Blue as well, thinking maybe my Pikachu was just OP. Nope, still relatively casual game. I don't see why people have this notion in their heads that these games were ever really difficult. We created the challenge for ourselves through specific requirements we would set, through each run. This game is really no different.

Honestly the "hardest" a pokemon game ever been is the first time through Sun or Moon and you run into the first boss pokemon that had the z attack behind them. Mainly because most people where not expecting it to do that. The fight seems easy if you prepared for it. Mind you, I never played a pokemon game, so I am online judging by what I seen online.

@@OldFluffyBeggar i mean, it's not even that they're all easy, it's that you're replaying them with knowledge you didn't have at first, as you've played you have learned the stats and capabilities of your pokemon, you've learned new strategies, you've learned to build an efficient and powerful team

@@dancorps1388 Personally, I've never had a problem with "too easy". I tend to pick mons based on themes or randomly which can lead to some bad teams and I barely if ever do anything to set their stats up. It's less that the series is getting easier tbh and more that older players are trying way too hard. Although, yes: the series is getting easier. Edit: I literally never realized the exp share works on the whole party simply because I never used it until I got online and saw people whining about it. It's quite insane really, they use all the power ups and items that buff their pokemon to max stats then expect a difficult playthrough. That'd be like if I punched myself in the face as hard as I could and expected the experience to be pleasurable.

While we get the argument that it is a lvl 3 metapod with no attack moves and that he used ingame systems to pull this off, it wasn't EASY. He actually did struggle and almost had his run terminated prematurely. On top of that, this was a PLANNED run. I could plan to run a lvl 1 fear rattata in the previous gens and have THE EXACT SAME result. What has changed, is how Let's Go handles pokemon stats. And to be honest, I'm glad I can make my favorite pokemon relevant and beat the game with it for a change. Is this healthy for competitive? Probably not. But for a casual side game that is trying out new ideas, its perfectly fine. Last I checked, this isn't main line.

I agree, but a little side comment. The developers have mentioned many times over that they do consider it a mainline game. Just as much as fire red or soul silver. Potentially falling into its own timeline, just like many of the Pokemon games do. And if any future games come out that utilize these ideas, they will probably fall into a Let's Go game than fall into a new gen.

I honestly can't see it affecting competitive at all. Everyone will just have every Pokemon they use candied up to the eyeballs. It'll be the same game, but with bigger numbers. That, or the system will just be banned for competitive play.
