To answer the "Why the masks" question - almost anywhere you can work has security cameras all the place, both hidden and obvious. That's the true thing to hide your face from if you're going to literally commit any crime in most businesses. No masks = your face being seen by literally anyone that has access to the cameras, which includes the cops if there's a murder. I've literally worked at: a fast-food style college eatery, multiple retail stores, in a trucking office, two grocery stores, one home-based business, a Cannabis Dispensary, and an Automotive Dealership, among other places. The only one of these to not have any cameras inside was the Home-based business. And that was on the second floor of a Condo Complex! The issue is the type of masks here - always go for ones that aren't too tight, bad-guys!

So some fun trivia. The masks in this movie also were used in Doctor Who Flux. The characters called Passenger Forms have the exact same face. Its crazy but in all my years, this is probably the first time I've ever seen the exact same prop used in different types of franchises. Like I know some props are used by different franchises but usually they're done up to look different in one way or another ya know? Like a different color or some shit like that but when I saw the mask I knew it looked familiar, then I went to the Doctor Who wiki page and BOOM! Instantly remembered. So strange seeing them in this. Pretty sure they came from Doctor Who first since that was filmed in 2020 and the season came out in 2021 and this movie came out in 2022 but yeah. Fun fact I just realized and wanted to share

There's some deeper lore to add on, the original mask design itself is a copyright-friendly ripoff of the mask worn by the character Tyson Rios in the game Army of Two, it's meant to be a ballistic mask that had been so shot up and damaged that it looked like the face of death. Evike still sells them today.

@8:05 If I was the writer of the script, every time that we see the “hunters” almost find her but don’t because they “don’t look down,” that wouldn’t the case. They would have noticed her but act they didn’t as a way to prolong the chase as to further terrify and exhaust her so she’s too week to fight back and too tired to keep running, more likely to make more mistakes and injure herself. It wouldn’t be that they’re stupid but rather that they’re sadistic. The hunters would also be friends of her ex-husband, two of which being her co-workers who know the layout of the building and placement of potential exits, weapons and hiding spot far better then she does. Making her odds of survival near futile. (Edit: @11:00 Well at least the writers did one smart thing, except they telegraphed that reveal WAAAAAY too early with how overtly hostile and obvious pieces of trash they made her coworkers in they’re introductory scene.)

I dont think opening the door for the package guy was a mistake. Anybody who's working a warehouse has gotten all kinds of people coming at all hours. Drivers showing up way late thinking they might still get unloaded, drivers showing up way early thinking they moght get unloaded, random packages, crackheads, etc, the longer you work in a warehouse the more you get to see.

I find it hard to believe that in 2023 someone would open the door to a stranger like that - and she's just a janitor* and not even a real employee, she's there for one night. And who would a) admit to being alone to someone who is obviously sketchy and b) not call someone with at minimum his description, especially when she knows the lock on one of the doors doesn't work AND she was just threatened by 2 guys who work there AND knowing they definitely told her ex where she is *by which I mean she doesn't actually work at the business, or even know what they do or know anyone who works there so she doesn't have authority to sign for anything...I'm not putting down janitors when I say "just"
