Fabrizio Zetino Y’all are lucky. You’ve got dry heat. Humidity is the silent killer. It makes sweating worse and forces your body to overheat

This doesn't work as well as you think down in NC or most Southern states. Texas got more dry heat then humidity imo but its no joke. I've worked outside for years and it's sometime hard to function lmao.

There are doo rags you can buy that you wet and can put over your head and/or neck. I wear one over my head as well as a sun hat. Also long sleeves that breathe actually help from getting sun beat.

This is old but try rehydration with electrolytes. You can buy them in pharmacys. You mix a powder(electrolyte) with water and drink it. It works for me, im outside year round framing houses and it works.

Theres sugar-free gatorade! And as a construction worker, gatorade can be a lifesaver sometimes. That's just me personally. I buy sugar free gatorade and water it down so it lasts longer, stick it in a cooler and Ooooh man, does it help throughout the day in addition to lots of water.

I'm a construction worker who was born and raised and work around this thumb area of Michigan we don't get too much heat maybe like a week all year above 100 .. I'm a pipeline worker and travel for work like most of the guys that do that job and I got a job close to home and was used to the humidity but the guys that came from Alberta were dying cuz they weren't used to 90 percent plus humidity.. but then they are good with cold.. I was working 14 hour shifts doing a oil pipeline bore in Brandon Manitoba.. I went there in October so it was fall weather but by November in was negative 20 Celsius regularly.. coldest it got before I left there was negative 40 Celsius and I went home at Xmas time... I usually carry a water bottle or Gatorade in my back pocket while I'm at work and yeah out in Manitoba I could not do that .. was only like an hour after we started work and went to take a drink and it was frozen solid lol plus all the guys with facial hair had icicles from our breath lol... I'm ok with the heat I just drink more water and pace myself a little slower than usual.. just sucks for some jobs that require you to wear long sleeve shirts while on sight or my least favorite which is flame retardant coveralls which get worn over our normal clothes.. last year was doing fire watch for some welders and yeah it was like 95 f and with the coveralls I was covered in sweat

The Best of Discord it allows you to hold your fluids longer instead of taking in and peeing out. Construction workers take salt pills sometimes to maintain electrolyte balance.

Too bad these workers will have shorter lifespans. Yes, Sweating so much will shorten your lifespan. Not only is it very stressful on your body, but also sweating out all of your electrolytes and minerals in which you cant replace fast enough.
@mermyuz97593 жыл бұрын
Exposing your body to extreme heat and cold regularly is good for you im quite sure. It has been proven to turn back your biological clock. The Thing about minerals is true though it wont shorten their lifespan. Working Hard on a construction site everyday Will have negative effects for sure but not because of the heat.
