Umm, +Nerd Explains - I almost always find your logic flawless, but in this case, didn't the original girl die an unnatural death? That makes her a vengeful spirit, not a demon, which means she's immune to most (if not all) means of repelling demons. The only way to release a vengeful spirit is to release them from their torment, which can be done by finding their remains and giving them a proper burial, or (if they were buried already) having a priest perform the last rites on their grave. If that doesn't work, then you need to find what's keeping her tied to the mortal plane, which in this case might be revenge. So, kidnapping the sorority girls and forcing them to play the elevator game might be the only option. I understand this wouldn't be legal in any way, so any survivor is almost certainly going to face prison time. However, once the spirit has her revenge, she should disappear, making elevator game safe for everyone once more!

I had SO MUCH expectations from this movie, but it turned out to be a disappointment sadly...:( I had first read this story about 10 years ago when I was still in high school and it creeped me out ever since. They could have done an urban exploration to find out more about the "other world" and how to it worked, is it an alternate dimension? But there was little to no lore at all, sadly...:( And to actually get to our world in the story, you have to do the floor sequence in reverse, or else you will still be in the other world, and elevator will seem to get farther away when you try to re-enter back after stepping into the other world. You can't just get back into the elevator and press the 1st floor button and magically you're back like they do in this movie!...😅 And the story just says, the woman is "not a human", and nothing more, and you just shouldn't talk to her, and you can visibly see her, nowhere does it say that she will "rip you apart" or be hostile in any way. And she GETS INTO THE ELEVATOR with you, and doesn't possess you from behind...😂 And the demon girl was just another crappier version of the "nun", and seemed like a rip off from the movie "The Eye", which is a much better movie, you should watch it.

The gap between the elevator and the floor it got off on was way too big and he slipped through, falling five stories but miraculously surviving. He was unconscious for a couple days but woke up apparently fine. His family apparently got a huge settlement out of it. (Because child sized gaps are a huge OSHA violation) This was well over 20 years ago. I'm trying to imagine a gap big enough to have an adult woman slip through accidentally. And the payout her family would receive if it was found to be a company error.

I still don't understand the point to this so-called "game". So if they do it wrong, she attacks them and knocks them off, and if they do it right, they go to a different dimension that's dull and uninteresting and she attacks them and knocks them off? What's the point to this? 🤨 Is this like the tide-pod thing, a so-called "challenge" that's clearly meant to get stupid people to off themselves? 🤔 Even the show _Evil_ couldn't make this nonsense work. 10:22 I guess Ali hadn't heard about numerous cases of people stuck in elevators for a whole week who _didn't_ lose their minds. 🙄 10:47 It's like the second segment of _V/H/S 99_ where the girl who didn't survive a sorority hazing 20 years ago now haunts EVERYBODY, FOREVER. Ghosts are dumb. 😒 11:23 "How easy is it to fall into an elevator shaft" - It depends, is the elevator haunted or sentient (and evil) à la _De Lift_ ? 11:33 I never understood the concept of fraternities and sororities. What's the point? It's not like they _actually_ provide any benefit after graduation, that sort of thing might have existed 50 years ago when there were very few people in uni and frats, but these days, there's no way they're staying in touch with dozens of people 20 years later. So all you're left with is being stuck with a bunch of horrible people for four years. No, bonding over sadistic bullying is not making friends. 😒 13:33 It's sooo dumb in movies when people just randomly guess at and essentially MAKE UP the rules to supernatural nonsense like this. It's as dumb as forcing things like prophecies to work. "If you take the name from Nostradamus' quatrain and add a few letters, remove a few others, then rearrange, you get !!! That proves it!!!" 🙄 "Oh, this song that's related to our current situation popped into my head, that must be the ghost trying to give us a clue as to how to stop the ghost from hurting us, let's jump to conclusions, grasp at straws, and make massive logical leaps that are not even slightly connected to invent a ritual to stop the haunting!" 😂 13:37 What about those rare occasions when the buttons get pushed in that order just by chance from people getting on and off happening to want to go to those those floors? Does intention count for supernatural stuff? 🤔 16:05 It doesn't work because Ryan thinks that his sister is still alive for some reason. He's literally seen the 5th-floor-Woman offing people who did the "game" yesterday, but he thinks his sister who did it a couple of weeks ago can still be saved because… 🤔 um, the 5th-floor-Woman kept her on ice for later, like a snack or something? 🤷 🤨 I guess it's a case of main-character-is-just-more-special-than-others syndrome (similar to, but different from plot-armor). 🙄 17:26 Meh, it was beaten by simple virtue of nobody with at least two neurons to rub together would bother with this simply since there's no point, just like the bloody-mary thing. "If you say Candyman five times in the mirror, he'll appear and rip you in half" - Um, so this is only for people who are ready to exit-game, then, right? 🤨 I'd say that this is just the state of horror now, written by useless amateur middle-school tweens who don't know how to write (like 99% of creepypastas and the FNAF movie), but then, that doesn't explain Candyman or bloody-mary. 🤦

I would cast a circle of protection on the elevator floor, draw a rune circle and cover the elevator walls with protection sygils from every culture. I would be covered in blessing artifacts and my handy wand. I could also cast a tempodimensional anchor so she doesn't whisk me anywhere and a globe of protection so she cant attack me. Also bring your barbarian and ranger so they could take some damage.

days of isolation in an unfamiliar place that you aren't even supposed to be in WILL drive you insane. especially with lack of food, water, and color.

If creepypastas have taught me anything, its that the more asinine the ritual the worse the outcome if it ends up being real.

Gen Z targeted movies are amazing. I can only imagine being in a theater with people while this was playing. If it was even in theaters.

the original Elevator Game has you travel to another dimension, slightly similar to our own, but with various differences unknown to people. there's not supposed to be some backrooms slander-ified monster with some random shitty creepypasta backstory in an evil realm. but i guess the nuances of a parallel dimension were too much for a modern horror story so they had to make it shitty. oh well :)

For real though - a lot of horror movies it's like "we're just kinda doing our thing, and then stuff happens" in this instance (and a few others) they're functionally giving informed consent. They're willingly participating in a game wherein one of them literally had a family member disappear while attempting, and then even after that, one of them encounters and completes the game and they still functionally take part? Yeah, beaten by not participating.

Hate to say it, but the elevator could have ended up crashing onto Ali if something went wrong with the springs and/or stopping system. Final Destination 2 shows how this can happen in one of the worst deaths by trapping a woman between floors on an elevator and beheads her. I know that's a fictional movie but that death is based on facts. Plus, sometimes elevators stop between floors and people fall down expecting there to be an elevator behind the doors - rare but a few real deaths have happened that exact way. For all we know, Ali could have had one mean girl stop the elevator - on purpose, that way and got tricked by the others to end up in the elevator pit. Personally, my idea to survive this - do cardio regularly by taking the freaking stairs rather than get close to any elevator! Unless you can't walk up stairs for whatever reason, this will help you stay healthy while avoiding any demons!

Watched an anime similar to this, only when the correct sequence of floors is reached, the main protagonists basically end up in another world they call the other side. It was pretty good.

This kind of horror always confuses me. Some people are told "if you do this thing, (Candyman, Elevator Game, etc), you'll die". And almost immediately, said people rush to do it, almost eager to get killed. What part of "you will die" do these people not hear!?

Nerd refusing to give his unbeaten title to a game that kills you with no chance of reward is honestly valid. Literally, dont play. Beaten. Honestly probably better for our population as a whole since it weeds out the kind of people that would play a death game for literally no reward...
