Solution. You connect the rope to each other, wrap it around the pole, then position your feet against the pole. You wrap it around the pole enough times so that you pull the rope tight when "standing" from the pole. You both then "walk" down the pole on opposite sides where the tension and friction in the rope prevents it from dropping. Similar principle to being between two surfaces, putting your hands on one side, feet on the other, and "crawling" up it.

The only time she was reasonable and a good friend was when she was dead. And that was a warped perception of her made by a grieving becky who was hallucinating after the trauma of watching her friend get eaten, so all of her actions were pretty much how she viewed her friend - when in actuality - she sucked. Entire movie until she was dead, she sucked. I think the most heartbreaking and horrible part of the movie was when it was revealed that she had a tattoo to commemorate her friends husband and what 'could have been'. So even if her husband had survived, and none of the movie ever happened she probably would have stolen becky's husband from her at some stage. What made it worse is that hunter caused becky to lose touch with her dad, the only person in the world who cared about her because she was just so selfish. ughh i hated her.

I honestly really like Hunter as a character. Not like I think that she's a good person or anything- I think she's well-written. She's been a bad friend through and through to Becky: having an affair with her significant other, abandoning her in her time of need, etc. and she seems to understand that, but now that she understands that she wants to make a misguided attempt to help her through this tower climb. Like, imagine doing that to try and help, only to realize how much worse you made everything. She was probably overcome by guilt through that whole situation, and that was most likely part of her reason to risk her life getting the bag in the first place. She knew that she'd done nothing but ruin her friend's life up until this point, and in her head she wanted to risk her life to make it up to her somehow. Her death is also really poetic, in the sense that it directly helped Becky to survive and get out of the situation- her body was dropped with the phone and used to call for help, so that even after death she was there for Becky. Even if she wasn't a good friend, she tried her best to redeem herself, and dying trying to do so is honestly a really good way to handle her character.

Honestly, their first mistake was attempting the climb at all. If you are traumatized by something, then yes it can be helpful to expose yourself to your fears. But it should be done in a professional setting and not with a friend on a radio tower in the desert. @@lonekie so I’ll clarify how this whole thing worked. We’d usually have like 2 to 4 guys. 1 man climbs (it’s rare that you ever have to go up these things) everyone else are ground men. We have a long ass rope attached to a tool bag to hoist up after you reach the top. The ladders actually have cages around them to keep you safe and your harness has 2 carabiners that you constantly move as you climb so it’s hard to fall. Also the light is never high and unreachable. It’s designed so you can safely work on it. Most of my days were spent building and climbing 🧗♀️ those tall electrical transmission towers you see coming off of power plants. They are usually around 200 foot tall. At first it’s pretty scary but once you sit back and take in the view it’s pretty cool. I’m older now and like being at home with my family so I run heavy equipment these days. To me that’s way more fun. I play with life sized tonka toys.

Once I managed to settle myself down, climb to the peak, and get the fuck out of that area, I was DONESKIES. But it took me months of cancelled plans and crappy weather that delayed other climbs for me to see the writing on the wall. About a year later, I was considering going back out to the same place to climb again, but the girl I had just started dating asked me not to go because she got a bad feeling about it. So I didn't go. In fact, it started making me care more about not getting hurt and I stopped free climbing altogether. Since then, I've had 2 friends fall. One broke a leg, a few ribs, and both arms. The other ended up having his right side from the femur down paralyzed. It made me wonder why the hell I ever did all that in the first place. Yeah, they should've taken the bulb off the tower as soon as they realized their chances of rescue were seriously dwindling [except Jesus christ climbing up that pole wouldve been terrifyingly dangerous, even though she DID pull it off later on-- also one of the more unrealistic parts] and I also thought about the putting a cellphone on the drone part, but that would've required going down to get the backpack first [dangerous and requiring some desperation], so unfortunately they thought of the shoe thing first. And then in order to even operate the drone, they needed at least one cellphone. But yeah, the drone thing would've been my go-to

I always thought why not just use the drone once they initially get it to float her remaining phone to the ground. The girl already on the satellite dish can just stay there, no real reason to climb all the way back to the top, and from the emergency services coming at the end we know there was signal at the bottom. So they grab the drone from the backpack, send it back up top with the selfie stick plan, then attach the phone loaded with messages to the drone, float it down to the bottom of the tower, and they both live.

Damn that’s a good inference! Instead of trying to send it all the way to the diner, ^ way they could keep the phone and see the replies once the phone got service hitting the ground level by just bringing it up & down until they/she ran out of battery. Then charge it like she did. Only thing is: would the phone fit in the compartment? If not they could’ve use the rope to tie it securely on when floating it down & up.

An idiot going into a dark basement when they know there’s a potential threat isn’t “exciting”. A person who uses all their smarts and physical capabilities to avoid a threat yet is still outsmarted or outdone makes the situation scarier and more “exciting”. It’s like watching a basketball game where the defender doesn’t even defend and lets his opponent drive by him and score a layup. How is that exciting? fun fact that idk if he talked about, cause i was watching the vid on the side: emergency line calls often connect even if you have no service. emergency lines have a thing, where your phone can use a lot more frequencies and devices for transmission than just normal cell towers. so if you are ever stranded with your car and no service, or lost somewhere, try and call anyways, even if it says no service. you dont need a service plan, a sim card, or even a single bar of connection (or visible connection at all) to call 911 and such. your phone will try to connect anyways, and every phone is open to do so, no matter the circumstances. if you are really out of range of any kind of frequency, then it might not work. but even just getting an sms out to emergency might work that way if your phone gets a random frequency that it can send on for a few seconds. in the case of the girls in the movie, write an sms, or something, try sending it every few minutes (weather and co might change, or unlikely but maybe, some mobile sender thing will pass through somewhere) then if it doesnt go through, wrap your phone in a shirt, and yeet it as far as you can towards civilisation, and pray it got some frequency during the fall. Edit: I just read up again, and some phones can apparently also use satellite comms for emergency. so even on that tower you would be save with certain phones. also if you go climbing BRING A DUCKING SATTELITE EMERGENCY PHONE!!

you weren't paying attention when watching the movie, the reason she DIDN'T do all those things.. is because she COULDN'T.. remember she DIED. @@crymair7454 at this point in the story the writers don't want you to figure out yet that she is dead. The burns on the hands are enough of a reasonable explanation to last for a couple scenes, before the tragic end reveal.

that would actuqlly work because the entire outer ladder fell down but the outer section was only 200m tall and the climbing rope (not untangled) is 50m. if you were to untangle that it would be around 200m, maybe a bit less but that wouldnt matter as they could swing down. that would get them to the inner ladder and then they could just climb down carefully

1. Lumberjack use of rope around tree to climb up and down ( basically loop the rope around the tower, put yourself between rope and tower, put tension on the rope with your body, release and generate tension on rope as you rappel down) would be difficult on a larger diameter pipe, but that tower segment looks thin enough. 2. Cover and uncover tower light repeatedly in SOS code instead of breaking that mf. 19:42: instead of tying the rope to the end of the platform, just FEED IT THROUGH THE GRILL. The image of the woman trying her hardest to reach the backpack also has its impact dulled by the fact that she decided to let the rope down on the opposite side of the platform relative to the backpack...
