How to BEAT ULV THE MAD KNIGHT Boss in Ender Lilies

Every other boss so far has been an intuitive back-and-forth that focuses on feeling the flow as much as learning the patterns and they're a joy to refight every time. This fuck feels like an Elden Ring boss in 2D, his speed is insane, his position-based follow-ups are a pain, his hp is high, damage is massive, and his telegraphs on some attacks are barely noticeable. This is the first boss I felt absolutely no remorse for putting down and Julius was a very needed follow up

Dark Witch Eleine and Western Merchant spirits at lvl.4 helped quite a bit. You can double jump and spam Eleine's attack to stay airborne, which helps to avoid many of his attacks. The last phase is rough, but having the Western Merchant on either, or both of your spirit attack sets helps a lot

In case anyone is struggling with the X slash like I was, I found that jumping then dashing as he opens his arms worked wonders. I don't know what it is but if you're airborne and dashing, the window to dodge felt way more generous.

I have been sitting with this boss for like 5 hours today. When I saw this video and also read the comments. I managed to beat it fourth try. ( at first, I did not see those sparks on the pillar attack )

Another great guide man, even more impressive you didn't use the extra spirits! For me the hardest part of this fight is resisting the urge to get greedy with attacks. The windows are so small I always felt like trying to get one extra hit in, especially in the third phase, so I'd end up ignoring what he was doing in favour of attacking and get annihilated every time.

Thanks this guide has been really helpful. Managed to beat it on my third try after watching it. Also I spammed the witch projectiles a bunch, did some ultimate attacks and was extremely lucky dodging stuff lol. I just barely managed to defeat him. Originally I would use the sword before I saw the guide but it was way too difficult getting hits out with that double slash.

just got started playing this game, and have beaten 4 bosses plus including this guy here, and mad knight was the hardest for me so far just because I couldnt tell when his stupid beams will be on his third phase. I thought this boss was fun but man fuk his third phase and his beam pillars in particular. edit: there was color sprites? god damn I was blind, I just hug the very edge of the screen and pray to god it doesn't hit me.

i agree, they are super helpful... other guides include skills that you don't yet have unless you have already completed the game and have all spirits already... therefore, those other guides are useless. These are great!

It’s been a while since I have played Ender Lilies, but try and focus on when he takes a step forward during the “X attack” motion. It is at THAT precise moment that you will want to dodge. Once I learned the timing of this attack, it was all downhill from there! You got this!

i used the witch spirt, the one with the eagle and the one with the spear flying out was a walk in the park. The beauty of this spirits is that you can attack while in the air. when you land i use the spear guy in his back. do that a few times and he'll be stunned. Ones stunned unleash all hell on him. if he attacks and you're not in the air just block his x attack and wave. i do have the with and the eagle spirit almost maxed out. That makes you OP in this game.

You can also parry his slash using Fretia’s ring and it will put you in a great position to deal some damage

I did that too, melts his health like butter , could probably beat him that way, but I just decided that wacking him with umbral knight and grod was better since I want to get up close and personal. oh, i also used that mushroom mage that summons a toxic cloud just for extra damage in.

This was my favourite battle of all!! I liked Ulv's movements, his attacks, the phases he had, the scenario, the music. All was so epic that- klmsrdfnas Ah, I just loved it. I saw a video of this boss to have an idea of what to do though (after 2 defeats), somehow I get very stressed with this kind of fights to the point I feel my chest becoming a drum because of the exaggerated heartbeats it does (I don't know how I got here-), but well, like another 2 or 3 attempts more after this and I managed to defeat him! Julius was the best lmao, Ulv always got hit by those atacks so it was pretty easy at the end.

Oddly enough, I read everyone saying this boss is very hard but I somehow did it my first try. I was out of heals and down to my last sliver of health but I did it. I did also use the crow for lots of passive damage which I think helped.

If your issue is the double uppercut, then either use the shield spirit or be near him and dash through him.

@@InhumanLIVE I beat the Ulv Knight just moments after you made your comment. I found that when he forms those pillars, that is the time to heal. His third phase just makes him too fast for you to heal, and he’ll often use his X attack after he makes two uppercuts. He was a good challenge and it felt good beating him.
