It’s crazy, I thought I always could do this bass the way alexinho, hiss and everyone else does it, but your tutorial is the only one I’ve found that specifies that you’re not supposed to bite down on your bottom lip when doing this sound. I have such a hard time doing this the way you’re teaching since my muscle memory always goes for the Fart bass that comes from biting down on your bottom lip to isolate the top lip’s oscillation. However, what’s been giving me the most trouble is when trying to just “tuck” my bottom lip under the top and against my top front teeth, I’m not able to get any kind of oscillation from my top lip when breathing out. The more I try to push, the more it sounds like a river pitch snare or top lip bmg snare. I realize this may be just residual muscle memory from the bmg snare but still could you give me some help on getting my top lip loose enough and any further posturing tips for my lower lip, given that I’m used to a lifetime of doing the fart bass the “biting-down-on-your-bottom-lip-way”? Sorry for the lengthiness, I just love beatboxing and thinking deeply about beatboxing sounds, especially basses

Fart bass is actually a sound that you can do without breathing outwards but just using the pressure from your lips, and therefore using circular breathing (breathing inwards while doing it with just your lips for a breathing break) you can do fart bass infinitely

Cool I've wanted to learn how Alexinho does it and this helps a lot. I've done a similar sound that sounds like a more wet fart 😂 using a pocket of air in the top corner of my top lip. Doesn't require the bottom lip to do anything. I'm not sure what that sound is called, or if people just refer to it as fart bass also. Anybody know?
