Once again you’ve managed to take a complex topic and break it down into its essence, its core. I have been a manager for 18 years, a pet owner for 16, and a father for 14 years. This isn’t just leadership as a handler, it is leadership for life. Thank you!

I agree. I was taking so much of what he said through a parenting/marriage/friendship lens! Leadership skills carry over into every aspect of your life. I value the way you’re able to distill these deeper topics down and deliver them with such clarity, Miles 🙏🏼 I started watching this video last night, my 5y/o daughter tuned in at some point, then asked me multiple times today if we could finish it. After completing the video she said, “let’s watch another one. He’s so good!” Your knowledge is making my time training our adopted 9month Doberman/shepherd girl a million times smoother. And you’re inspiring me loads with my own YT channel-especially the 1 take and minimal editing (you have some serious skill)😆 thank you and much love from Snohomish County, WA!

You have radically shifted me and my dogs life for the better in just three days. My partner found your reactive to off leash video a few days ago and had me watch it. It was absolutely transformative for how I interact with our rescue who previously has been reactive and pulling on the leash so bad that interacting with her was something I dreaded every day. I was seriously questioning if I was even a dog person. We have made so much progress on our loose leash walking, our verbal commands, etc. I now understand what my vision is for my dog and I can't wait to get to that place with her. Thank you for posting these videos you have really helped me.

Awesome video Miles! I'm part of the training program and I can say that I highly recommend it. For anyone who's committed to training their dog and have that clear vision of having an off-leash dog, the program is absolutely perfect. It will 100% get your dog to that level, as long as your absolutely committed to training your dog daily, rain or shine. It teaches you EVERYTHING and any questions you have are ALWAYS answered - I have never had a question that hasn't been addressed, be that in the weekly live Q+A's or by the community itself. If you aspire to being the greatest leader for your dog, definitely get the course.

@@kamiko_kourteva IMO no. These breeds are too independent that following this program so you can off leash them in the city settings going against their nature. It's these cases that training is not enjoyable for both the trainers and the dogs. Look more into barn hunt or something.
@kamiko_kourteva
@kamiko_kourteva 17 күн бұрын
@@lukeryuzaki2328my breeder has 11 Azawakh that she works off leash with e collar, so I know it's possible with that breed. PQRs and Sloughis I know take extra work, but I'm not sure if this particular method is conducive for primitive hounds. They are quite proud and work based on relationship, not necessarily to please. I feel like what I've seen from him, he emphasises a working relationship with your dog before anything else, but I'm just worried when I see trainers pushing avoidant behavior with corrections, even though I myself consider my training style balanced. If there's something I'm missing concerning his methods, I want to know, since a $1500 price tag isn't cheap 😅 I'm planning on coursing, racing, and agility as our main sports for when the season starts up again. Barn hunt would be a for fun thing that I'm not too concerned with doing other than to rack up some titles. Thanks for the suggestion, though! Maybe when we've earned his Grand in conformation and coursing and racing we'll move onto the nose work stuff.

@@kamiko_kourtevaI think it depends on the life you currently have with your dogs and what your goal is. This program IMO can train any breed of dog. It is especially optimal for people who live in the city or more urban areas. If your sighthounds are used for hunting then I’m not sure. There may be better options out there. If you walk your dog as 90% of dog owners do and your sighthounds are just pets, then I think the program will be valuable. The program will get your dog off leash trained and teaches you how face problems with your dog. I have 2 husky mixes, one mixed with Akita and the other with coonhound. Both off leash trained through this program

@@kamiko_kourteva I agree with Luker on Phú Quốc Ridgeback dog part. No idea with the other breed. I am a Vietnamese (born and raised there) and I personally owned Phú Quốc Ridgeback dog myself, and member of Phú Quốc Ridgeback dog club in Saigon before VKA conception (Vietnamese AKC version). I am owning a Shiba Inu. Got hand on experience with Akita Inu, Husky, Whippet beside German Shepherd, and herder retriever mix dogs. So in comparison to all those other breeds, Phú Quốc Ridgeback dogs are still different in comparison to Husky Akita Inu and Shiba Inu. Shiba Inu and Akita can grow to be very possessive to the owner. That’s helpful in training. Huskies like to run and play, which is also helpful in training. Phú Quốc Ridgeback dogs are middle in the road. They want to roam around doing their own things. They’re hunting dogs. They only active when it comes to real prey. Ball drive and play drive to interact with owners is rather poor. Akita Shiba even Huskies have been bred to acclimate to city life, while unfortunately majority of Phú Quốc Ridgeback dogs are just left free roaming or backyard bred (even with all the papers). They’re mostly not well bred as those other primitive breeds in comparison. Making it very difficult to train.

It was because of him that I decided to train my dog off leash. I hadn’t given it much thought, but when he said it’s a must and thoroughly explained why in one of his videos I decided he was right. Other Shiba owners terrified me to try it as the breeds prey drive is strong. But we are in the process of training her, the earlier stuff came easy as she is mostly trained. I let her off leash in an isolated field and she did amazing!!! I cried haha. Now we are working on expanding areas & training her to be cautious of cars. But I’m glad I did it and I fully agree

I am currently reading an article called "Higher Command in War." The article is a transcript of a talk General Sir William Slim gave to a group of US Army officers and instructors in 1952. Slim was probably the most successful British and perhaps Allied ground commander in WWII. He knew how to lead and win in the face of maybe the most daunting obstacle I can imagine, hundreds of thousands of Japanese soldiers trying to kill you. Listening to Miles' talk I kept saying to myself, "That is what Bill Slim said." "That is what Bill Slim tried to do." Great job Mr. Hamilton.

Because it automatically filters out everyone who wouldn’t have taken the training seriously anyways. I love working with the crazy committed dog owners, the ones who give 110%, the ones you see training outside in the rain - those are my type of people. You can find some of them in the comments on this video! Most dog owners should absolutely not join our program. It’s is for a very very specific type of dog owner - but for the right person, this is the last program they’ll ever need to buy.

@@hamiltondogtraining I see. To play devil's advocate, I would consider myself very serious about training my dog. Doing countless hours of research and training rain or shine. I have a very intelligent husky who deliberately is stubborn at times. I'm committed to learning what I can do to improve our relationship and effectively train her to be obedient so I can give her the freedom to play in a park or be off leash like you mention in your videos. However I know right now she is not ready for that. (NOT HER FAULT!) My local trainers offer similar training sessions and styles to what you show in your channel but at a significantly lower price point. Also with a roster of successful clients to vouch for their methods. I guess my question is, what differentiates your course from others who seemingly have a similar layout?

Train with whoever you believe would give you the highest likelihood of success. Every dog trainer promises the same stuff, everyone has testimonials, but very few actually deliver results that last. That’s why our program comes with a 30 day money back guarantee. If you don’t get results, you don’t pay. That’s how I believe it should be. 66% of our members have paid for training before joining us - which is insane to me. The goal of our program is not only to train your current dog, but to improve your skills to the point where you never have to hire another trainer again. A true transfer of knowledge. To me, that is the ultimate.

I watch as many videos as I find and yours are really helpful to got my plan going. You have a good mindset which not every dog trainer has in my opinion. Could you do a puppy video, about the most important things to remember, especially for corrections in this young age. Most confusing for me, is to walk a puppy. The dog shouldn’t learn to pull, but you don’t get far and the puppy don’t get its exercise. How do you manage the way to the perfect walk, from the time you get the dog. If anyone else can help I would be grateful.

#3. I realize that the only imperative I had with my newly adopted 6 yr old dog was that we had to overcome his terror of being near road traffic, or it would be very difficult to get him to a vet in an emergency and so on. I might have to give him back or get him to a farm to live or something like that. Failure to do the job.. I tried different methods such as gradual at distance acclimation, rewards, but he only got better at anticipation of the bad thing coming. So I realized I could not keep him properly unless I solved it for us. I saw that he PREDICTED trouble if we walked in the direction even from a long distance. So I counteracted that by forming a plan to take away that predictive power. It happened by walking a star-shaped pattern for along time, changing every few steps until he was walking without thinking, NO PREDICTIVE POWER - basically asleep at the wheel with head drooping, and I continued the pattern from the ravine park, (which we could access from the back yard) right onto a very busy sidewalk with buses and trucks rumbling by. He didn't like it but he walked straight with me to home and within a few days he was pulling to get to that sidewalk to get to the park. Since then I've had very limited success with basic stuff. But then, I haven't had that need, that drive and necessary plan formation, for ordinary training. You nailed it.

To not have that and to have the best relationship with her as I can will be rewarding to me and worth the investment.

Well done, man! You're a scholar type of personality. You must be studying also other aspects of life. But one drop of yours is bothering me: you've learned from Haz, but not from the older than him in the concrete punishment, like J. Gellman or Sean O'Shea? What's the difference apart from the dog political correctness? And you didn't study with Ivan Balabanov personally, but his second hand - Larry Krohn. Who dislikes Jeff and Sean, but likes Balabanov and Haz's top point corrections. I see this all as a big dog-policy-mess, useless brawl, since some of the masters could not stand the pressure of what is going on nowadays in this industry. Please don't be one of them in the future, stay firm, correct and bright.👍
