I think the whole talent thing is interesting because it can take a while to 1) understand the fundamentals of what's required 2) experiment and find your throw 3) consistently use that throw ... I'm currently two months in (hour a day) and I'm just starting the 3rd step of that. I wouldn't say I'm good yet but the improvement along the way has been really encouraging and I'm starting to really feel the good darts as I throw them.

Personally i dont think county should be up there on the pyramid now, county averages look way lower than loads of other amateur darts stuff - lots of guys averaging in the 30s and 40s. Stands to reason too as you need to travel a ridiculous amount to play county - i would have a 3 hour trip to play 'home' games!

I disagree, if someone was averaging in the 30’s and 40’s they wouldn’t get picked for my pub team never mind county lol I stopped playing county awhile ago and it was a great standard and experience, I do agree with the travelling tho, long weekends but no regrets here, proud to say I’ve been there and done it

@@dingleedell haha yeah dunno what i was thinking with the averages there 🤦 and absolutely nothing wrong with playing county if you enjoy it, but with the dev tour, challenge tour, adc, etc all as solo events then for most young players they will probably not see county as a next step in the pyramid towards becoming pro; at least not to the extent it used to be

i’m 13 and only started playing darts recently and i’ve beat my mates who have played for years but my dad won’t let me set up the board in my house and i’m ready to practice for years but he won’t let me get it out i don’t know what to do i feel i’m naturally decent aswell

Tell him that it’s one of your hobbies you want to play, tell him the benefits - it helps your maths skills, hand eye coordination and is a bit of exercise, if he says no, keep begging until he does

I'm starting my own pro league. We're gonna throw 4 darts per visit. Plus, you get a bonus dart for every 180. 901 is the game.
@charlesscottkelly8 ай бұрын
I would be happy hits 3 60s every visit.

You absolutely must have a certain amount of natural talent to start with.its not all about hours on the board.
@SurprisedDodoBird-py2dl9 ай бұрын
I think you can get decent with hard work but there's no question it takes a natural talent to be world class. I believe Littler when he says he doesn't practice. He has a perfect mix of everything from natural ability to calm under pressure.
