This video is amazing, I work in a broker firm and learned for the first time about data analytics there, I’m looking to make a career change into D.A, and your vid is the only real vid on how to attack DA and be proficient on it, plus the info on certification is premium knowledge given by you, so from a Venezuelan in Utah thank you mate

thank you. You know I've been to Venezuela, about 20 years ago. I went to Maracay and Caracas. It was part of a big South American trip. Nice people. all the best.

This was a useful video for those interesting in learning to become a data analyst or wishing to add to their data analysis skillset. However, it is biased toward Microsoft products (Power BI, Azure). Having been an Excel analyst for more that 15 years, I can attest to the importance of both Excel and PowerBI. They are amazing tools. However, there is less emphasis here on the Google certificate courses, which are widely popular. The Google Advanced Data Analysis Certificate Program, in particular, is worth considering and makes up for some of the shortcomings of the basic certificate training. But it's worth emphasizing that the Microsoft programs lead to certifications (passing a test) rather than certificates (finishing a course), with the former being more rigorous to complete. Listening to the video, I get the feeling the presenter has not completed either the IBM or Google programs, but I may be mistaken. For more information on the Google and IBM programs, I recommend listening to Alex The Analyst on KZbin. Overall, this was a valuable video and provides great insights into this career choice.

What are your thoughts about math skills? statistics? should I know this (at least the basics) before going down this road?
@AnalystLaunch Жыл бұрын
Hi, Yes, you should have basic statistics skills. A junior analyst just needs the basics, that you could learn free online. But like everything else, the more you know, the more opportunities you will have. There is no high level math that you need. Data Science - a different profession, is where you need high level Math skills.

You may address this in the video in still listening but hope will ai affect this job?
@AnalystLaunch Жыл бұрын
Hi, There's no way to know for sure. I would guess that the demand for data jobs will continue to grow.. The reason.. AI and machine learning need enormous amounts of data as input. I wrote about this on Linkedin. www.linkedin.com/posts/shano-collins_why-ai-will-increase-the-demand-for-data-activity-7061530216866721792-Fl2q?

The more skills someone has the better (at any level of their career).. Matlab is mainly for Data Scientists.

Do I need a college degree to land a job? I’m 22 had some family problems past 2-3 years have been in and outta school if I put in the effort can I get hired? Thanks man
@AnalystLaunch Жыл бұрын
Hi, A degree would help you get more interviews, but I definitely know people who don't have a degree and who are working Analysts. It also depends on where you are located. If you put in a massive effort, and learn all that tech. Then yes you can. Also, you can put yourself on the freelancing sites Freelancer, Fiverr, and Upwork. There are many self employed Analysts getting good money there. have a look at this article www.analystlaunch.com/p/how-to-freelance-data-analyst all the best.

@@AnalystLaunch I am currently located in NYC. I watched your video however I’m still a little confused. Can you type out the roadmap on which I should begin. In other words should I obtain and study for both Microsoft and AWS certs or just pick one cloud platform and go from there. Once again thanks so much for your help.
