How to Become a Fulltime Manga Artist (8 Ways!)

Okay Everyone, I just had to get this off my chest. I have been quite frustrated with trying to balance being a manga artists and well… a human who needs to eat, sleep and a roof over their head. Also I got burned out and have to take a break with drawing manga pages. Humor helps me dealing with the frustrations of trying to make it as a manga artist. So even though this video doesn’t actually give you any proper tips I hope you at least find it somewhat entertaining.
Just to clarify 2 things: First: I am one of those lame artists who need a day job. So please do not feel attacked if that’s what you have to do too XD. And second: I am not moving in with my parents. Cause the ending might have awoken that impression.

I feel like my first manga will be trash so I feel like I'm wasting my time making it because I'm really attached to the idea and want it to be given the justice it deserves and if I am not attached to the idea I don't even want to do it so I'm stuck. [Breaths deeply]

Maybe try picking a different story for your first manga. One that you are less attached too and can play around with more. But also one that is still fun to you... and also somewhat shorter xD finishing a long project needs discipline which can be difficult when you're just getting into drawing manga pages.

I decided to make a story of someone struggling with the same dilemma I am, and they eventually figure it out. Much shorter story than what I want to to eventually, but I'm actually really interested in it because that's my lived experience lol

In regards to number 2. Here in the US we have plasma donation sites that are able to take donations from a person twice a week. Currently my local plasma donation site pays 45 for the first donation of a week and 55 for the second. That's an extra $100 a week for donating blood.

Actually, I think for blood plasma you get money here in Germany as well. I don't know how much though. Either way, it's kinda sad it people have to donate blood etc. to survive. In a perfect world you do it only to help people not because you can't afford basic necessities.

@@olschis_art considering rent is between 700 and $4,000 a month depending on where you live donating blood is not going to do much but it can help if you're on the very low end of the economic spectrum.
