Hi, First Complete BFA and master the drawing skills then learn photoshop in youtube tutorials thats enough. Dont join in any institute they don't teach you more than youtubers teach. Just learn in youtube.

There are many institutes like maac, arena but they don't teach anything... I have heard about a good new institute named BLCKERA CG.... U can do some research on it.... Its probably a better one....

Degree really doesnt matter in India, its all about skills. However if you want to clear your basics, choosing BFA as a background might help you. On top of that every digital tool that is used in Art, like Photoshop, Maya, Max, Blender, Substance Painter etc. should be polished

It's been 8-9months since I finished my game art degree,I knew where I wanted go , what I wanted to be ,I had apply in many AAA-studios which are located in India including Lakshya digital,but nowadays these studios are asking for exp at least 1-2 years , some studios doesn't even take interns,maybe that's why I couldn't join a AAA company , I was unemployed for 6-7 months last year ,so I didn't have many Choices ,so went for interior design company, I'm planned stay here to stay for a year maybe after that I'll apply somewhere else mainly in AAA studios,hoping for the best.

Hey Rhitik, getting into a AAA studio is a dream of everyone in the gaming industry... It's not wrong on their part to expect experience from the people they want to hire afterall they want to be sure that the outcome should be AAA, and these things are not taught but come from experience working in the industry... however you have chosen the right path to gain experience, you could have also joined a smaller indie studio that make games... But eventually it's the matter of building skills on art tools so it doesn't matter... Keep building a solid portfolio meanwhile that can help you join a AAA studio...all the best, Godspeed!!!

Its a shame that studios like technicolor, lakshya digital etc. do much of the hiring for 3d artist in India because you get extraordinary quality of 3d work be it modeling, texturing, animation, Vfx etc. at a very very low cost. 3d artist community in India is highly underpaid and these studios are exploiting them. Its high time for 3d artists community in India to wake up and plz not to co-operate and work with such studios until they pay you for what you deserve, Seeing the current cost of living etc the work itself NO ARTIST IN INDIA SHOULD JOIN THEM UNTIL THEY PAY YOU AT LEAST INR 50,000 per month for even a fresher level be it any field of 3d industry . . because thats the amount to decently live a life in Metropolitan ciities and considering the amount of work we 3d artists put in.. be it at level of a fresher. BOYCOTT THESE STUDIOS UNTIL THEY PAY WHAT YOU DESERVE

Concept artist are really hard to find they will give blueprints of gun, vehicle,environment, character artist means one who sculpt or model characters from different set of tools,game animator usually animate those character he will will make walk,running etc, now a days I guess most of the animations are done using motion capture.
