you have the right attitude.The problem all grey men face now, is how to dress without being noticed? If you look at the usual suspects on the anti establishment protests; you will see that they all dress like so-called grey men.
@andysalinas1626 жыл бұрын
sapper steve that is so true. I always dress to blend in to the environment. If I am going to the mall I dress for fashion. If I am doing daily errands then the gray man look. If I am going to an event then business class or formal.

Everyone talks about being a gray man in a shft scenario but from what I can gather is every gray man has a bug out bag or backpack which is going to make you stand out especially if you think you might be running across desperate people the only way to truly be a gray man it's to be tactically stealthy in my view. To be walking around with gear of any kind is to automatically draw unwanted attention
@dial0foroperator4 жыл бұрын
A scruffy person with a beat up backpack isn't unusual. Dude like this with glasses, and tacticool shirt and a BoB with MOLLE would stand out and be the first person I take equipment off of.

Being a gray man absolutely always depends on the environment. If I am going to a sporting event, say a Rockies game and I am wearing a collared shirt and khakis, I will stand out but if I am wearing a Rockies jersey, baseball cap and jeans, no one will ever give me a second look. The other thing to make note of is age. I am 45, if I am running around in untied high top tennis shoes, baggy shorts, a baggy shirt and ball cap, I WILL stand out no matter where I am but wearing khaki cargo shorts and a polo short, again, never a second look. It is environment and dressing as others in your similar age group would. GREAT video...

Thanks for the updated video on this subject. Always enjoy see videos digging into this subject more. There's a lot of applications for this approach but as you mentioned, not something you'd probably want to do on a daily basis unless you had a reason. I am 5'7" so I'm a little under the average height for a male but don't really have any unique characteristics that cause me to stand out. Having lived in different nations, I've found the value in this approach as standing out makes you a target. Once you get into a new country, it's so important to determine that baseline and blend in accordingly. Love your new intro as well. Keep up the great work!

I take the grey man mindset to all situations. If I go to Disney world I want to look like a prepared dad. When I go to Puerto Rico, I want to look like someone who knows how to wear a short sleeve button up shirt with chinos. When I go to Aspen, I'm wearing a snowboarding jacket. Blending in and looking like you belong somewhere is always a tactical advantage. Sticking out like a janitor and a business meeting does nothing but creates a disadvantage

Here is another idea for being stealthy, (Gray Man)... If you are unfamiliar with an area, just stay out of it altogether until you know all of the streets and alley ways so you can quickly get out of dodge if something nasty pops up. It also boils down to common sense. If you see trouble, Don't get involved and leave the area quietly. If you find yourself being followed, get to a safe area and call the police or if you are near law enforcement areas... Go into the building and speak to the officers and if need be, ask for police escorts, particularly if you are not looking for trouble, are unarmed, and especially if you are a girl. But Jack is right about a lot of other things... Blend in where you can. Or, if in doubt, Stay out.
@curtiscarpenter98813 жыл бұрын
You must change identity, cover story, disguise, clothing and everything you have used or could be identified with. Being bilingual helps, it helps to have gone grey at a good location too like a airport so profile a location. Dont stand out from a crowd with your body language if returning to the scene of e.g. a incident. Have all new equipment and disguises sent to yourself under the new cover name in advance.

I do and don't like being grey man at same time. What I do like being grey man is that I like being normal and casually formal. Just some simple fashion that I throw over or wear on and I already blend in. Change the gesture and the way I act and things I don't normally have. I blend in quick. I live in the mid town new york on west side. I live near the times square but in between New Jersey Bus Transit and madison square garden. During warmer seasons I dress in the long shirt with blazer over it. Now I dont have a blazer but its better if I was in the formal setting. But then I always have a hoodie or spare t shirt with manga art on it. I socially interact with people if I have a anime that I usually like to watch. But because I properly plan for everything. Everyone in my class says I'm always that guy who is normal but as soon as you let him go he's out of the thin air real quick. What I don't like being a grey man is usually that I blend in too well especially I am quiet for most of the time. To describe me in one word, I'm advocate. Because I am so quiet. In many cases where I tie my shoelaces, they absolutely leave me! It happen to me so many times that I just wonder off in the streets buying and exploring the area only to find out there is a police on my tail and I have a teacher being so serious about the situation. Which because of these situations I'm often getting more quieter. But I prefer not to being a grey man because I have disability and often times I have speech difficulties. But overall, I am a artistic guy. Because I have this observational talent. I was able to achieve the person in who I am today.

So in most cases, high populated areas with varieties of people will be the best place of practice. Observe the surroundings to see the attire people wear. For example a beach. Wear shorts and a plain t-shirt or tank top and sandals. In a mall, think of jeans, khakis are to formal, black pants are to security looking. Baseball hats or skully caps depending on the weather. Black watches or none. Specific colors like gold and silver stand out. At a convention, think of the subject. Blending in would mean to look like majority of the crowd. If you wear to bland at say a cos play event, you'll stand out like a sore thumb lol

If your beard is huge or long, you will stick out as well, I keep mine between a quarter to three quarter inch, which is pretty much the average for facial hair... I will say that having tattoos and or piercings can help you blend it. Just like not having those things can also help. I've been in a lot of bad areas with large groups of people where because they being a person in question says oh they have a neck tattoo or a lip piercing but 40-50 out of 100 other people do to makes it a hard for a fast id. I do think that it also has to do with the personal aura you project.. you have to know your surroundings even if you don't know them. I've lived all over this country you can blend in if you're different just have to know to engage if you absolutely have too.
