Are you wondering how to become a music producer? Perhaps you want to become a famous DJ & Music producer? Becoming a music producer is not easy. In fact, it's much harder than you might think. As a musician and music producer, you have to not only make your own music, you also have to be your own manager, spokesperson, graphics artist, and distributor. As a music producer in 2021, you need to be a lot more than just a music producer in order to succeed with your music. The thing is, you have to be seen to get noticed, and the competition is strong. Making music has never been as easy as it is today. You can basically get a complete virtual music recording studio on your computer, that does everything you need in order to make music.
A laptop and a pair of headphones, or studio monitors are really all it takes to make a hit these days. But even if you make a real banger, nobody will notice your music unless you get noticed.
In this video, I'll show you some tips and tricks on how to succeed as a music producer these days. I will show you what works and what doesn't work. How to promote your music, and how to get people to listen to your music. That's often the most difficult thing of all: How to get your music heard. If you want to grow as an artist and music producer, you need to get people to listen to your music first, and that's actually much harder than you might think. Simply because there are so many people making music these days, it's often hard to really punch through the masses and stand out.
But don't get discouraged by that. There are ways to break through and get your music heard.

I have one rule that I always say to myself everyday "Be Something" and don't think "I want to be a famous producer", instead think "I will be a famous producer" and work for that to happen. Keeping my visual quality to the max, learning from online videos, contacting other producers in real life to learn even more, etc.. I love what I'm doing and I won't give up!

Yeah, but it's important to get new hits out there frequently or people will slowly loose interest. You can ride on a one hit wave for some time, but then you kind of fade away. There's plenty of artists that had huge hits a few years ago, but we never hear anything about them any more because they haven't released anything new that really took off. As an artist, you constantly have to travel around and play at gigs, festivals and such. There won't be much time for making music any more, which is why most of the big guys now have ghost producers in order to keep new material coming, to keep the audience engaged. It's sad, but this is how it's become :\

Here's 10 tips on how to become a good music producer. These are all tips assembled from top producers world wide. We could easily have made a video with 100 tips, but as you know, we like to keep it short, so this was just a few of the most important tips. As usual, this video is made available to our Patreons first, before it's published on KZbin.

I'm an amateur, i make beats for almost 10 years, a lot of my work has been lost, i have no sound card, i use my laptop acer i 3 processor my headphones from JBL and fruity loops 12 that's it, i am still an amateur, ( and i guess i always will be) because a lot of my friends became very good music producers, but i cannot figure out why i can't still i won't give up and the only thing i expect from making music is that people will feel it, and listen when they are driving or whenever. because i have listened to so many different kinds of music and i have been trough so many journeys while listening to others, i really like that feeling, i love that feeling. and that feeling i would love to share with others by making my simple but different style music.

Some people are very eager to learn and try to learn new stuff constantly, while others are more stagnant and do the same things over and over. Sounds like perhaps you're a bit "stuck" in your old ways? Perhaps you should try to experiment with some new stuff that you would otherwise never have thought of. That might spark some new ideas and creativity. :) Try some new genres, learn some new techniques, and try different sounds.
@ccentricbeats
@ccentricbeats 5 жыл бұрын
FireWalk I think you are right, but my problem is that I cannot fix the sound of my beats at the right frequencies, I've watched so many videos but Somehow it sounds amazing when I make them, and It sounds totally dull when I listen to it with rested ears. I notice a lot of times that the sounds are not right placed , whatever I try, it always sounds cheap, still I will try to reach that level where my sounds will be right, I hope

You're welcome. A signature sound is something that you typically suddenly have without even thinking about it. As you keep learning music production, you'll teach yourself lots of techniques and tricks from various other producers, and then you'll be incorporating various techniques and styles into your own music. Before you know it, you'll have developed your own unique sound because of that. :)

I think a lot of people get the notion “if you make music you have to profit from it.” Every music producer at any level would be asked at least once “how much money you made from your music?” For whatever reason it can’t be seen as a hobby like gaming or sports. I just like learning about music and music production it’s a nice pastime. When I answer “I don’t get money from it. I just like it” then I would get responses like “why are you wasting your time?” It’s a bit annoying but i try not to let it bother me. Atm I’m working towards a career in a completely different field. Edited: In short it’s completely ok to just enjoy music production as a hobby. But if you’re aiming to make a living from music then best of wishes to you 🙏

Thanks! Glad you liked it :) Indeed! That's the right spirit. Do it for the love of music I always say. Some people go into it for the wrong reasons, thinking this will be an easy way to make a living, skipping school in order to make music instead. It's important to understand just how crowded the scene is these days. Most record labels get hundreds of demos every day, most of them don't even listen to it all. 25 years ago, they probably got 100 demos a month. It was much easier back then. If you were an average producer with the right equipment, chances were good that you could get noticed and have a career in music, simply because there wasn't that many electronic producers back then. Back then, most teenagers were playing video games. Today, a lot of them are making music instead, and they are in a way all competing to get noticed. It's like finding the needle in the haystack. :)

That's how I wanted to hear about that. But for making unique and signature sound is so difficult but it comes from inspiration and things what you love. Unfortunately, perfection doesn't exist. Most of the producers, especially EDM producers are just copying over best hits with the same sounds and same melody. Good artists copy, Great artists steal. And listening to music is so compelling even more than 1 hour. I know what I get there already. I watched your video more than 3. Very informative! Thank you!
@FireWalkMusic
@FireWalkMusic 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Finding your own sound is difficult. I recommend that you actually don't look for it at all. Just make music and watch tons of tutorials, listen to music and try to get ideas from many sources. Eventually, you'll start to implement some tricks from various places, and eventually that will accumulate to become your own unique sound. :)

Hey, thanks! Much appreciated. Indeed! I didn't catch that. The I and D seems to have switched place. This can happen some times when you type too quickly. I always check my videos many many times before they go public, it's a shame I didn't catch that one. Well, nothing I can do about that now. I wish KZbin had some more advanced video editing tools. It's impossible to go in and correct even the smallest error. Since they removed the annotations it's not even possible to put text on top of the video to correct statements or whatever. Hopefully they will do something about this in the future. :)

Hello Firewalk, I have to say that I love your tutorials. They are straight to the point and easy to follow. With that being said, would it interest you if you could make an in-depth tutorial on the fl studio plugin Harmor? I'm pretty sure a lot of people who have it would appreciate it greatly, myself included.
