This FL Studio beginner tutorial will show you how to make vocal chops in FL Studio with slicex. SliceX is a slice tool that comes with FL Studio. It allows you to chop up samples and rearrange them etc. Vocal chops and ad-libs can help your music stand out and sound more exciting to the listener. In this fl studio beginner tutorial, I will show you how to use slicex to chop up vocals and make vocal chops from any audio sample so that you can then play the vocal chops in the fl studio piano roll and make great melodies from the vocal chopsticks themselves. vocal chops can really spice up a track, so make sure to watch the entire video to learn all the neat tips and tricks.
As humans, we react strongly to vocal sounds, which is why vocals are so effective in music. It doesn't have to be a full vocal, even some vocal chops will work fine when it comes to spicing up your mix and making your song more effective. As a music producer, it's essential to know how to make good vocal chops. This tutorial will show you the easiest way to make vocal chops in FL Studio.

This seems like a hard to answer question so im not sure if anyone knows but I appreciate any answer really. What if we want to apply the same sort of rules or effects and slices in the vocal chop layer but replace the sample outright? Is there a way to record something, and then have that same set of effects and slices to a new audio sample without having to recreate the layer/channel outright?

It's a great tool indeed. Have you tried importing get a drum loop into it? You can do a lot of cool things with it. I'm going to make more slicex tutorials at some point. Sure, I can make a tutorial about quantizing. 😊
@Steveness100
@Steveness100 7 жыл бұрын
Fantastic thank you. The only thing I would like to be able to do in Slicex is to change the pitch of the whole sample like you can in a sampler channel with all the time stretch options. I usually get my loop done in Slicex then render it down to audio so that I can better manipulate pitch and time stretch. Other than that it's a great tool and perfect for drumloops

Hi FireWalk - Quick question, where did you get the "MJVE Ad-Lib" content from? I'm interested in being able to use vocal samples with articulations for vocal guide tracks - a bit like multi-layered drums are used with articulations in FXpansion's BFD3, or say Cinematic Strings 2, or Cinesamples' Brass/woodwind (the last two using Native Instruments' Kontakt). I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have! :)
@FireWalkMusic
@FireWalkMusic 7 жыл бұрын
Rohan, It was a free vocal pack I downloaded from www.producerspace.com/ you can get it there. It's the mandy jones ad-libs :)
@rohanfirminger9182
@rohanfirminger9182 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Good to know. Your video actually inspired me to use vocals as a virtual instrument, just like the strings/brass/woodwind/drums I've been using for years. Up until now, I have actual vocals given to me when mixing, or get a singer to sing something into a mic, vs using vocal libraries. But seeing this makes it clear that you can compose with virtual vocals, and for me this is more aimed at creating a much more natural "guide track" for a vocalist, vs a piano melody. :)

@@FireWalkMusic You mean lay down the pattern on the piano roll, record it into Edison, and then Stretch? Do you know if there's some other method that allows chopping/rearranging, pitch shifting, and tempo change all together? Would help make it easier to explore with samples.

Is there a way of getting my midi keyboard to start recording with pressing one of the buttons?
@FireWalkMusic
@FireWalkMusic 6 жыл бұрын
If you have it set up correctly with the right driver then you should be able to start and stop record from the transport panel om your midi keyboard. You can also activate the feature to automatically start recording on midi input in the fl studio transport panel. :)

1# find a good vocal samples acapella or phrases (the longer of the tracks/acapella or phrases the better for creating a unique vocal chops melody. 2# Chop the vocal sample and pick your ideal vocal chops that u think unique or cool. 3# Know the key of that vocal chops or adjust by tweeking the (Pitch), (Time), (Moul) nob then click reset so when you are in piano roll the pitch of vocals can change on every note. 4# Create a melody or drop melody on that vocal chops (much cooler if you use diffirents vocal chops sounds in your melody to create uniqueness or cool melody) ex. Julian Jordan - Lost words and Dubvision - ❤ 5# add (2) EQ and Soundgoodizer to enhance the sound of vocal chops (its your choices if you want to use Soundgoodizer or not for Max effectiveness only). 6# Add Reverb and Delay for more Max effectiveness of the Vocal Chops (always recommended for vocals). 7# Add Compressor to enhance more the quality of Vocal Chops. 8# Goodluck i hope u have a great time reading this thanks! :)

@FireWalkMusic

It's coming :) Unfortunately I can only manage to make maximum 2-3 tutorials pr week due to my day job and such, and my "to do" list is filling up with requests for new tutorials faster than I can make them.. :p But mixing in general is high up on the list. I'm considering doing a somewhat longer mixing tutorial that covers various aspects, like vocals, bass, percussion and so on. :)
