Back in the day, my first solo was also my first international flight! I flew the downwind leg pattern a little wide that I crossed over the Rio Grande River at DRT!

@@KingSchools no, the landing was smooth. I don’t think they really made an issue as long as you’re within a mile or two of the river. I never had any F4 or F-16 scramble on me, lol. But when I was station in Korea, we did have a Cessna 150 that missed the airport and flew into North Korea. They shot him with 20 mm. Returning immediately back to the south they fired from the south at him with 20 mm. Needless to say that aircraft came back safe with about 40 holes in the tail. I think this is the Air Force’s first stealth aircraft.
