Absolutely no need to do an integrated ATPL with those “big name” flight schools, no need to do your training in the UK either, perhaps the most expensive country in the European continent to do that. You can take the modular route for less than half the money and land absolutely the same job.

Whatever you do guys pick your school carefully. These schools can go bust overnight and all that money you’ve invested is gone. From the integrated perspective, still consider this. Schools like L3 and CAE are multi billion dollar companies, they won’t go bust overnight and training pilot cadets only a small part of their business. Word is stay away from Leading Edge Aviation. Negative reports from graduates particularly concerning their limited airline placement. It’s based on who they give jobs to after graduating. Nothing to do with competency or exam results

It might be worth mentioning how since Brexit there are 2 different commercial licences now: UK and EASA. They dictate if you can fly planes registered in the UK or in Europe. If you want to fly for Ryanair at one of their UK bases then you'll need an EASA licence for example. It's possible to get both but it's obviously more expensive.

Then I can recommend Ryanair's cadet program. There is a school in Łódź called Bartolini that has it. The cost is cheap, but it is €62,000. However, you then need to buy a type rating for €3,000. Another school that also has the Ryanair cadet program is Aviomar in Rome. It is a bit more expensive but is a fantastic school. It is also very well-regarded, with a lot of support from the teachers.

I was thinking about doing the CAE EasyJet MPL course in the future, you think that is a good idea. I know that after you are tied to the airline but are there any other downsides or should i just invest in the iATPL
@alexcurmi74127 ай бұрын
I think it would be better to choose the Ryanair mentored programme since you come out with an ATPL. The trouble with an MPL is if you don’t have the required standard for training or EasyJet choose not to employ you (which they can), you’ve then lost your £120,000 because the license is not valid with any other airline. If you’re rich then it’s not an issue, but you can do a better, safer course for much cheaper so why not! There’s quite a few stories online of people who paid for the EasyJet MPL and ended up losing their money so I’d personally avoid. You could do modular ATPL training for half the price and have a license which is valid with any airline!

Also, if they accept international students, do those students get jobs at BA or other airlines as they are not nationals, and have no EU passport?
@mikep96046 ай бұрын
International students can't directly get a job, because airlines normally require that the person must have an unrestricted right to live and work in this particular country. Basically this means that you must have a legal permanent resident status in this country. You need to apply for a residence permit that gives you a right to live and work permanently in this country. Getting a residence permit depends on the decision of the immigration authority. I can't say if airlines support work Visas for foreign pilots.

Pardon me, but you don't look British, also are you Muslim?
@mikep96046 ай бұрын
@@WAJEEHAZAHRA-d6y I checked some information about L3 academy, and obviously they accept international students in the UK because when you apply to their course they ask you to inform your current country of residence. You said you are on a 5-year work permit in the UK, but if you want to work there as an airline pilot after completing the ATPL course, presumably you need to have a residence permit which allows you to live permanently in the UK. I can't say if there is a possibility that airlines can support only a work Visa. Of course you can contact some airlines and ask about it. But if your plan is to stay in the UK and get an airline pilot job, I think that you need to find out if you can get a residence permit which gives you a right to live and work there as a pilot. It is best to use official sources to get more information about the residence permit. If your plan is that first you want to work as a flight instructor, you can contact some flight schools and ask them if they accept a work Visa, or if they require that you must have a permanent resident status. You can also check information about 'Indefinite leave to remain' (ILR). Indefinite leave to remain is how you settle in the UK. It gives you the right to live, work and study there for as long as you like.
