I was an A&P mechanic for Cessna Citation years ago but have been teaching high school business classes for the last 16 years. I'm looking for a career change and might want to jump back into the aviation industry in this capacity. Even while I was an A&P, becoming an airplane broker was intriguing to me. The only thing I am concerned about is if there is a job market for a 54 year old ex high school teacher with past aviation experience compared to pilots/ etc... who are currently still in the industry. I do not want to waste my time pursuing something that isn't there.

I hope you're still making videos. I came across your video while searching for videos about becoming a jet sales broker I'm also currently becoming a jet charter broker to book flights as well. No I'm not a pilot. I have an undying passion for Aviation that's why I decided to take this path as a career change. I'm told that being a pilot is a prerequisite to becoming a jet sales broker. Even though I have a tendency to understand why they would say that I don't think it's necessary to be a pilot with a jet rating. Yes it does give the best understanding of jet aircraft but at the same time you still have to know how to sell what you fly not necessarily fly what you sell. Is this something that is true or untrue regarding the prerequisites of being a pilot?. I hope you are still making videos and checking your email notifications for replies such as mine. I look forward to hearing back from you

great question. A Charter Broker books individual TRIPS, a Jet Broker sells the Jet itself.

Charter Brokers sell one-off TRIPS, Jet Brokers sell the actual Jet. Charter Brokers have more volume, but a smaller commission while Jet Sales have a high commission but less value.
