I'm a 4th year Comp sci major. Make sure you study your data structs and algorithms, I have a couple of friends looking into SWE and it's important to know the basics and a lil extra with the current market. Also make sure to practice, leetcode is a good option AND PERSONAL PROJECTS.

So do some projects that include BDD testing with Cucumber. Be able to show test plans and so forth. Of course, build the software that you are going to test.
