Up until my early thirties i was the glasses wearing, book reading, peaceful, well mannered, humble, sensitive, quiet type. But this did not attract any girls at all. I liked the type of girl that was similar to me thinking that they would like a guy like me, but it wasn't so. I came across as weak and not even able to protect myself, never mind them ! I was brought up (as were my brothers) not to upset people, get into arguments, fights, interfere, or impose on others. So i tended to keep away from people a lot, and keep out of the way, keep my head down etc.

I appreciate you sharing it. Have you explored other sides of yourself? The fire, the inner warrior? Have you been able to tap into your anger?

@@MagdaKay In my early thirties i decided to 'get out there' and just start conversations with females where ever, and when ever they where and stop waiting for some 'magical' happening. ( i had been fed the notion that you can't go seeking love, that that you can't 'make it happen', that you just go about your day and it happens 'naturally'. Nothing happened in my twenties, so i decided to abandon that idea and treat it as something ( like many other things in life ! ) where you acquire skills and experience and 'progress'. And that worked. I wish i had done it earlier.

While these are all admirable things you’re mentioning. I’d honestly like to see women step up their game too, and not be weak themselves. If women want to be held to high esteem and be the boss, to be the leader of this world, to be Independent where they don’t need men to be happy, then they also need to step up what they want when they are dating. It cannot always be on just us men doing all these things to make it right for a woman to date us. Because we don’t make the decision to pick what activities we are gonna do for a date, I’d rather just go bowling, or have drink someplace. I don’t want to do crazy activities that make me pay tons of money for a time that I’ll never get back. Idk I just think women need to change probably more so than men.

in your option, in what way should women step up? What's the next step for women?
@Neoteny374

Pal, I think you'll find women DONT want to be the leader of the world. At least in thier relationship, they don't. High esteem, yes of course they do, but they are quite willing to listen to you if you know what the heck you're talking about. As for activities, be yourself Chief, don't take her to an expensive french bistro if you don't like and can't afford french bistros. Take her into your world, whatever that is, and let her get an accurate measurement of who you really are and she can make the proper evaluation on weather your a guy she'd like to do life with.

@@Neoteny374 when I say the leader of the relationship, I talking from my own personal experience. I’m making a general statement, I realize, but I don’t feel that I am far off the mark. Look at society today, it’s all over the place that women want more leadership responsibilities, more control, more power. It’s there whether you see it or not. But I just came out of a marriage where the woman told me flat out that her career was way more important than being married to me. I’ve seen a few men get out of relationships or step into relationships where the woman has exercised control over the entire relationship. I’ve watched it happen, it happened with me. So my question is, what are you talking about?
@MannysVisionStudio
@MannysVisionStudio 2 ай бұрын
@@MagdaKay please don’t take it offensively I’m only speaking from personal perspective here. And I realize my statement was making a general point. But i just got out of a miserable marriage where my own ex wife from the very start wanted complete control over my life, our relationship, our child, our finances, everything. I’ve just experienced a custody case with my ex where I lost all custody of my own son. I can’t see him except for once a year. Wasn’t my choice. It was forced on me. I had no prayer, why? Because I am Man. And the court let me know very clear that men don’t get rights to their own children. I can’t tell you how often I’ve run into situations where women want more control over things. But rarely take responsibility for their shortcomings. It’s blamed on men. Almost always. At my own job I was called names by a female colleague just for simply looking at her. I kid you not. It has happened to me. So when I say women put a lot of pressure on men, it’s because I’ve experienced this so often that I can’t even lead a normal love life, or a normal life in general. I’ve been called names for expressing interest in women. And I know a lot of other men who have the same experiences. It makes us not want to talk to anyone. So it’s really hard to look at this advice and have a very easy time of this. Because in truth we men get shamed for every little thing we do. I can’t tell you how often women have said how much they hate men these days. And all I see is men struggling to figure out what on earth women even want anymore.

I disagree that men have to put themselves into ever more severe modes of suffering. Perhaps more novel modes of stretching ourselves would be better. Life is not a linear progression of challenges. It all depends on what phase we are going through and what is our goals and aspiration. Often we can do more by doing less. After middle age, it would benefit men to give their bicycles away, and forget marathon walks. Get a motorbike instead. Take into consideration that both men and women physically age. Fatigue is real. Maybe your audience target is 20 years to 50, Magda, well okay, and you'd agree that the world needs less one size fits all systems of doing things. Strength, when taken too far can turn to useless aggression and shows up as cynical belligerence and sadistic sarcasm. This does not provide good role models for the younger generation but only reinforces pecking orders and useless stereotypical behaviour. Men and women will only experience intimacy when we learn how to be reciprocal. Otherwise love is dead when it is bought and sold as a commodity

If I may suggest, there is a great booked The Power Of Full Engagement. It talks about 4 courses of energy: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. As it's described there, the problem is that we overuse mental and emotional ones, but don't use the physical and spiritual enough. Fatigue comes when you keep sourcing from one for too long. We are meant to use all four, and switch between them so they have a chance to refill.
