(Lord welling they will see my value and offer me the position) I've been trying so hard to break into the appraisal industry in Los Angeles but I find it challenging because its very male dominate and specific to certain race as I see out here. The values you have for wanting to pursue Appraisal are awesome and you're absolutely right integrity is needed and so many people of color have been unfairly under valued. Love this video! Not sure why I'm on this side of KZbin when I'm trying to become an Independent Claims Adjuster 🥴 lol. I took the state exam last year, failed and took a year off. It was so tough! You are very welcome! Ok Maryland. Yes, I took course work with McKissock as well as Appraisal Institute. AI is rigorous, but you will be more than prepared for the proctored exams. I like both schools tbh. Also, look up 10k Black Appraisers. Join the mailing list. This way you will be able to get connected with a supervisor appraiser to get your trainee hours.

My question is, I am a SAhm who also homeschools my 2 children. However, i would love a passion project for myself, as well as a way to financially contribute to the family. Is this a career that offers that kind of flexibility/part time work where i could literally make my own schedule?

Hello there Megan! No. This is a type of career that you must lock in and really market yourself. Once you show your banking partners you are reliable they will keep you busy. But it’s gonna require you allocate more than just part-time hours. I’m still learning but when I speak to seasoned appraisal professionals they all say the same thing. It’s hard work and it take’s consistently. It’s rewarding though.
