for an actor who does kind of everything acting wise would you recommended having ALL work you've done on one resume, so one resume with theatre, film, and commercials, or separate resumes for each one, one for film, one for theatre, e.t.c?

All on one resume. You just title certain areas of your resume with theater, film, commercials and list the appropriate roles under each category 👍🏼

Typically, the farther away you were from LA the harder it would be to get an LA agent, but since the pandemic there has been shift in that area. Because you are in a different country, it’s harder to say, but it is not impossible. If you know someone in LA or have relatives in which you could stay if you get booked, you could mention in your cover letter that you can be a local hire and will submit for any self tape auditions. Again since you are in another country it’s a little harder to say, but that’s the way I might go about it. Also note that Europe has some very good talent agencies that would be far closer to you. I would suggest those as first options

I'm planning to go to uk on tourist visa this January 2025 and planning to settle down there permanently in 2026. I really want to give acting a try and I'm planning to apply for uk agency during my tourist visa stay, is it alright to do so? Also I'm 23, is it too late to start acting or get into?

Well I believe you would first need the proper visa in order to try attaining a long period of work, but if you have that then there’s no real harm in giving it a go. 23 is not too late to start. There are actors of many different ages. What I will say though, is realizing that the likely hood of making it as an actor (sustaining yourself comfortable from only acting jobs in the entertainment industry) is less than one percent. This can: 1. Make the pursuit of acting extremely difficult and stressful on the artist, by relying on acting as your source of income. This creates performance based on ‘neediness.’ 2. Shortens the possible longevity of your career because of financial struggles. Typically, what I suggest for actors, is to have another job that provides a very stable source of income that if Acting wasn’t to work out, you wouldn’t mind doing this job for the rest of your life. For example, if you were to get a job being a waiter, if Acting doesn’t work out would you mind doing this waitering job for the rest of your life? If not, then I wouldn’t recommend that job. This may mean going back to school to find a job you like and attaining the proper qualifications to acquire that job. Why would you do this? Well the likely hood of making it is less than 1%. Does this mean not to try? No. But it does mean the odds of you booking are also low. Let’s play a hypothetical. I am not saying you want these jobs, but it’s the hypothetical. Let’s compare jobs and salaries. Let’s do a waiter ($2,500 / month) and an accountant ($6,000 / month) and let’s say rent/food on the low end will cost you $1,200 /month. Let’s do the math. Like I said before, it’s extremely difficult to make it as an actor, so the odds of you booking is very low. Let’s say 5 months go by and you don’t book anything (this is normal) let’s see where your finances will be at. We have to times everything by 5x, since five months will pass. Waiter • $12,500 - $6,000 = $6,500 Accou. • $30,000 - $6,000 = $24,000 Now, as you can see there will be a huge difference in your bank account. When you get an acting job you depending on the job, it may only be a one day shoot (great! You don’t lose your accounting job) and if it’s more than one day (5 weeks) and you are forced to leave your accounting job. No problem, the waiter job will always be there for you afterwards, or you can apply to be an accountant somewhere else. Just be aware, you may have to wait 5 months again for your next job (or more). Here is one last scenario. Let’s imagine after 5 months you book something and you were to choose not to do either job again until your money ran out (you are paying $1,200 for food/rent). Waiter job = buys you 5 months of rent/food Accountant job = buys you 1 year and 8 months (or 20 months in total) of rent/food. Remember these are examples and I am not saying you need an accounting job. I am saying find a job you wouldn’t mind doing (if Acting doesn’t work out) that pays well, because if you get lucky and you start to make headway in acting, you can also put yourself in a position to have a strong cushion of finance. All this is simply dependent on making the right decisions and really thinking things through. This is a long comment, but is sometimes very much so needed in pursuit of this business.

Online if they were to ask for one. They may want to get a demo reel going for you (depending on the agency) so you may or may not have to go through that process. There are companies out there who can create reels if you actors cannot
