I completed my EN (in WA) last year and by the time I graduated, it was no longer in the skilled occupation list and I had to go to uni straight after graduating and trust me it’s hella expensive but working full time as an EN and somehow juggling along with studies, I am able to pay my uni fees and since I am an EN already I am always a step ahead (in terms of clinical skills) of other students who are in the same stage at uni.

That’s unlucky! What a timing ! Enrolled Nurses are currently on SOL for subclass 189 and 190. I guess, it’s a matter of chance whether that stays when someone is ready to lodge an EOI. I’m glad you are doing so well and progressing towards being an RN, it’s all worth it at the end 😊 And yes ! You’d definitely have an edge over the other students who are fresh to nursing. Ohhhh,,, so bad timing.. I'm planning about Bachelor of Nursing in Aus for Permanent Residency too. I just wonder if there are enough places where work as an Enrolled Nurse. Because I've heard there's almost no place to work as EN. I also have to earn money for uni(for Bachelor of Nursing). That's why I planning to go to TAFE first, earn money as an EN after Diploma of Nursing. Can I earn enough money for Bachelor of Nursing course in Uni if I became an Enrolled Nurse? Can u advise for me 🙏 I need some realistic advice from experienced person..

No. Once you complete your diploma of Nursing in Australia, you don’t have to sit any exams. You can start working straight away! Exams are only for internationally qualified nurses, who have completed their education overseas.

Hi Khushhal, As Enrolled nurses are on Skilled Occupational List, ENs are eligible to apply for 190. While you wait for invite, you'd be on 485, which is a post grad work visa, that allows you to stay and work in Australia for a number of years. So I don't see why you shouldn't be able to work in Adelaide. All the best :)

Hi Ankush, Most universities these days are asking for a score of 7 in IELTS (in all components of the test). If you are finding it hard to score that, consider PTE, relatively easier. Also, if you are only lacking in ONE component, you can try and approach the university of your choice and ask them if they would let you enrol with your current score. Because you will need 7 each upon completion of your degree anyway, to get your registration as nurse, that's not negotiable! I hope this helps :)

Hi Jots, Because you already have a bachelor degree in nursing, you don't have to go for masters degree, you can just start working as a nurse after going through the OBA pathway. Alternatively, if you choose to go for a post graduate degree and study masters of Nursing, upon completion, you will still have to get your overseas qualifications assessed before you can start working as a Registered Nurse in Australia. Hi there, The university fee structures have definitely changed over last 1-2 years, Avondale university use to be cost effective for international students, compared to other universities in Sydney, so might be worth having a look at their fee structure :)

Good Day Pawan. I just saw your video on KZbin, great content. There's something I'd love to know; I completed year 12 last year in South Africa and I've taken the PTE Academic English test however, I got an overall score of 64 where for Listening(62), Reading(68),Speaking(63), & Writing(66). I'd love to know that is there any chance if I'd get admission at TAFE NSW perhaps?

Hi there, The entry requirement for international nursing students (for most universities) states an overall score of IELTS 7 (PTE 65) and IELTS 7 each or equivalent in all components of the test. Now there’s two things to look for- Whether the university you applying for let’s you achieve that score in 2 sittings, as some universities do. Or If you approach them with your current score and seek feedback, as they know you’ll have to sit the English exam again anyway for your nursing registration at the end of the degree. They might make an exception and let you commence your nursing studies (as we are desperate for international students at the moment in Australia). I hope this helps :)

I appreciate you explaining about EN!! ♥︎ I'm Yuta, 27yrs old. I'm planning to go to TAFE( EN )and Uni( RN ) for PR. As I know there are 2 cities (Adelaide and Tasmania) that I can get PR as an EN. But Almost people said EN is not eligible for PR and also can't earn enough money for Uni fee (for Bachelor of Nursing Course). According to them, there are two big problems. The first, it's not realistic because there's no enough places where work as an EN. Secondly, EN course can't get a graduate Visa(Sub485) after TAFE. So If I don't have a partner visa, I don't have any visa after TAFE graduation, so I can't fill my career for permanent residency (subclass 491 -> subclass 191). The point is that there's no visa to live or work in Australia after Diploma of Nursing course in TAFE. They made me so confused... Help me pleaseee😭🙏

Hi Rutvik, There are only some universities across Australia who ask for a background in maths, in order to enrol into nursing. Most Don't! so don't worry, with a background in other science subjects, You'll be okay! I hope this help :)

Hi Jyothi, You will have to go through the OBA pathway and sit NCLEX exam, get your qualifications assessed by Australian authorities, before you can apply for registration as a nurse in Australia :) I hope this helps :)
