This reminds me of this conversation between a samurai and a zen master: "Don't you realize that I’m a samurai that could cut you in half without blinking an eye!" The master seemed unmoved and replied "Don’t you realize that I’m a Buddhist monk who can be cut in half without blinking an eye?"

Thank you for this great message. I appreciate the wisdom of all sages & messengers. Many people on KZbin condemn other religions other than Islam & are narrow-minded. It is not what Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught. He taught to respect other's religions & He said: "there are as many paths to Allah as the number of breaths".

Thank You Brother Ihsan. I am so grateful to have found your podcast (The Soul of Islam) and this channel. So very poignant and enlightening. Blessings... A focus of meditation from the Buddhist Tradition... 1. I am subject to aging. There is no way to avoid aging. 2. I am subject to ill health. There is no way to avoid illness. 3. I am going to die. There is no way to avoid death. 4. Everyone and everything that I love will change, and I will be separated from them. 5. My only true possessions are my actions, and I cannot escape their consequences.

Peace and light, thank you, David. Also thank you for sharing the suggestions for meditation and contemplation. I will mention, however, that Islam provides greater depth and also hope, and this must be kept in mind, especially with regards to eternity and the life and world beyond. For example, while we may be subject to loss, weakness and death in this life, in the world beyond, we are liberated from such by the mercy, love, generosity and grace of God. Remembering such helps us to surrender to suffering in this life. To your divine and eternal success.

@@spiritualexcellence Thank you for your kind words and blessings Brother Ihsan. I think my intention for posting these objects of remembrance were to highlight the fleeting nature of the things of this world and how, in many cases, this perceived insecurity is the basis of many of our fears. The remembrances remind us of the nature of the things of this world (impermanent) and through the contemplation of this, we may be able to focus on what is truly permanent (The Divine/God) and hopefully, in turn, live more fearlessly! Your wonderful post and video brought these to my mind. I have been thoroughly blessed by your posts and have recently signed up for your meditation program which has also been superb. Blessings, David

Salaam Walaikum. All thanks and praise belongs to Allah the Rabb of All Worlds. No one can truly be completely fearless but the heedless. One might show courage and endurance during various levels of fear and types of fear. Fear must tried to be reserved for Allah alone. I would imagine those within the realms of higher consciousness tend to live in constant fear/awe of their Lord because they appreciate his power. Surah 2:155 We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure

Blessings for sharing your thoughts with us, dear Ihsan. May Allah guide us to Him and ultimately die fearless and happily. It reminds me of Rumi's wedding and his final Union with God, the Beloved One. "Why cling to one life till it is soiled and ragged? The sun dies and dies squandering a hundred lived every instant. God has decreed life for you and He will give another and another and another." Rumi Mathnawi V. 411-414

Peace and blessings, sister. Perhaps the first place to start is with prayer and strengthening our relationship with our Lord and Creator. Ask him for strength and faith in your heart, and to be guided to truth and His divine will for you. Then, I suggest surrendering by breathing, relaxing and letting go. Become still and open yourself to the divine peace that is ever present. Also, it is important to continually reinforce your faith, practice and path, ideally by continually learning and also surrounding yourself with others upon the path. As a resource, I would suggest Awakenings Academy, which we created specifically for this purpose » www.borderpoint.com/academy. May God bless and guide.

Assalammualaikum, thank you for this powerful and important message. At the mention of a movie, I am reminded of one called Flatliners wherein a group of medical students conduct an experiment to undergo near-death experiences. Each of them come out from their experience becoming entirely fearless but this led to heedlessness instead of an enlightened state of consciousness. But of course, this leads to their downfall. Their paradigm of living in the moment is closer to the popularised notion of ‘YOLO’ which allows one to act spontaneously but with no care for consequences and for others - only seeking as much pleasure as possible before our inevitable end. I’m wondering how one can stop oneself and encourage others not to fall into this trap…
@spiritualexcellence2 жыл бұрын
Salaam Nadia, just curious, would this be the original Flatliners from 1990, or the remake in 2017? Seen the original which was as I recall very good, not seen the newer one.
@nadiaalang54742 жыл бұрын
@@spiritualexcellence It’s the newer one - I didn’t know there was an original! Will make time for that as the new one starts out promisingly but felt really… flat… as it goes.

I'm sorry, do you mean you want the image of the statue to be digitally removed from the video? Also, within the first 15 seconds of the video, it is mentioned that I am at someone else's home, so not up to me how they choose to decorate their garden. Hopefully, you were able to see past that and get something else out of the video. Blessed regards.

I like what you said some time ago, about how eating and drinking too much can ruin the overall tranquility and joy one gets from worship. I have experienced that it does indeed reduce the effects of fasting and prayer, in that it does away some of the Eemaan I felt throughout the day.
