Thank you for a good explanation, but I have a starter that works well on the table but is LAZY in the car. All connections and battery are good. Any ideas ?

very useful advice, thank you. I have a pajero that I cannot start. The engine cranks but very weak. The battery voltage was 12.7V but the voltage between solenoid positive and ground during cranking was approx 1V. Any advice on this situation?

Where is the ground cable hook to? Clamp?

Can you fix it if the starter drops down to 6 volts buy replacing bushes etc or is it better to just buy a new one? Thanks

Great vid, couple of questions: 1) If I want to test the solenoid, and not the starter, I disconnect the power joining strap? 2) I have a 13.2V, 26 amp power supply in my shed. Would this be enough amperage to work just the solenoid (hence disconnecting the motor), or do they need waaaay more than that?
