Eric didn't really flag him. He just didn't accept a draw and watched the timer run out. That's what made Hikaru mad. So what happened with Eric is similar to at 14:03, where both players agreed to a draw. Except with Eric and Hikaru's game, Eric claims he didn't see the draw offer. And Hikaru's timer just ran out. I get why people called it a flag, but it was kind of different from your typical flag.

@@copper4eva Hikaru was on a loosing position trying to flag Eric. Eric was just trying to survive, since he had less time(that's why he made the first draw offer). After a couple of moves Hikaru replied with a draw offer, but at this point they only had 5 seconds on the clock. Eric probably saw the draw offer a bit late, so decided to take his chances (remember, he was on the winning side). I think Hikaru just got mad because it is an unusual situation and it didn't go the way he expected, but in my opinion Eric was absolutely on the right to change his mind and take advantage of the situation, since most probably Hikaru would do the exact same thing(specially because he usually looses points by drawing, since he is always the higher rated player).
