How To Blackout Your Headlights ( MK4 Joey Mod ) TDI Wagon Project

Finding more and more things to do with the Tdi Wagon while we are bored at home. The Joey mod is super easy to do and a very cheap little thing you can do to really change the look of your mk4!

I used to work at (formerly known as) Hella factory, here in South Africa. I know how easy it is to break or damage headlights, so if you're a noob, I don't recommend taking your headlight apart, especially if it's hard to find replacements. Try at own risk.

Need a sponsor for the trim paint lol its always getting used and coming in handy for these cars !! Looks great though man the wagon is coming along great ! I also didn’t think about using that clear silicon sealant that’s a good idea. I know some people just heat up the old stuff but I’ve never been a fan of that because if there were any gaps or anything it’s just better to be safe and redo it than have issues down the road. Hopefully you’ll be able to find some glass headlights for the silver wagon.

A good tip. Remove any metal from the headlight housing, also any wiring if possible.

Valeo is a stock supplier. The tyc is an aftermarket replacement. You should do the dual turn signal mod after you part the v5.

I used to have smoked acrylic lense covers on velcro on 1 of my golf's then on another I had joey mod twindicators. Looking for a set of R32 projectors to do next but I'll probably buy new lenses too just to make sure there's no scratches or chips in the glass

Trim paint everything! On the car are you clear coating the trim paint after or is it just straight trim paint?

Tails look great, they make the car just a bit darker then before. The headlight do the same for the front. Absolutly love it. Would love to see black badges front and rear too. Full black car🤔means no chrome allowed right?

Everything was going according to plan until time came to mask up the chrome.... I got regular painters tape and it peels off the chrome. I've watched numerous videos on this and not a single video has the chrome come off even though they seem to be using the same type of tape. Any help would be appreciated.

Your intercooler is disgusting. Use AC condenser cleaner to remove that filth from inside those fins. If you cant it due to needing an HVAC LICENSE, get aluminum wheel cleaner
